Musk Acquired Twitter: Part Deux

Just came here to say Elon has really ruined twitter. I didn't see a massive difference when he first took over but it is sooo much worse now. Would not be surprised if it dies in the not too distant future.

Dorsey whittled down the list of people he follows on X to just three: Musk, Edward Snowden and Stella Assange, wife of the imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher. It suggested an apparent warming of relations between X’s owner and Dorsey, who had posted on Bluesky a year ago that “it all went south” after Musk’s takeover and radical transformation of Twitter.

Over at Bluesky, “little by little, they [the board] started asking Jay [Graber, the CEO] and the team for moderation tools, and to kick people off. And unfortunately they followed through with it,” Dorsey told Pirate Wires.

“That was the second moment I thought, uh, nope,” Dorsey added. “This is literally repeating all the mistakes we [Twitter] made as a company. This is not a protocol that’s truly decentralized. It’s another app. It’s another app that’s just kind of following in Twitter’s footsteps, but for a different part of the population.”

Can't link the arstechnica article due to language but Musk is suing advertisers claiming they "illegally" didn't advertise with x.

What a crybaby dummy.
The way I understand it he sued GARM because they were pushing liberal outlets and no conservative ones. Apparently, the group folded and shut down if I understood the situation correctly. They had the goods on them that they targeted conservative outlets to push advertisers away from them because of their own bias and not because any actual reason in many cases.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable that advertisers don’t want their stuff next to nonsense from idiots proclaiming the superiority of the white race.
That’s not at all what the law suit is about. It’s against GARM and the claim is they were anticonservative and pushing advertising away from conservative platforms because of their own bias. The claim is they were frauds and dishonest. Youre right a company can do whatever they want with their dollars, but apparently the gold standard guiding organization was anything but honest.

“Your honor, I would like to play a clip”

*plays clip of Elon regarding advertisers, in which Elon explicitly says “eff ‘em”*

“Your honor, the defense rests”

My dude that is exactly what the lawsuit is about.

GARM is already dissolved.

No matter how you slice it this is him pitching a fit over the fact that people with a serious interest in not being associated with the kind of stuff he’s peddling don’t want their brand associated with him.
GARM dissolved after the lawsuit was filed. They don’t have to associate with him, but GARM was a trash organization.
