an interesting and maybe scary idea may be players who are named who have transferred elsewhere (Marve) and recruits who committed elsewhere but are named as receiving benefits. If they've played at another school, this could cause a back log of vacated wins at schools other than Miami.

You guys get this doesnt affect UA right, Just the coaches names who may be looking for jobs. No reason to feel bad about it, those violations were at the U not UA.

Doesnt hurt us, but makes us look bad by employing both guys.

Pretty serious violation, however strangely, not the worst of the stuff mentioned in the accusations. Essentially they both introduced a recruit and his family to the booster who was later handing out gifts by the barrel.

Probably enough for UA to have to release them both, because if the accusations hold up, they may be serving suspensions from the NCAA. When or if that will happen....who knows?

I don't know. We don't know what Stoutland knew about Shapiro and we don't know what he told Saban in his interviews. I tend to think that it all revolves around the relationship between Stoutland and Saban and how frank Stoutland was. With Pannuzio, it's just hard to see how he stays, with all those text messages...

If all of this bears out as being true and validated by evidence (which, at first glance, it appears to be), the writer needs to teach all other supposed "sports journalists" how to investigate, corroborate, and report on sports. He took his time and did his homework and laid it all out there for the world to see. Nicely done.

I agree Pannuzio is the most easily replaced and I'm honestly uneasy about him in an administrative role. With Stoutland I suppose he could have given SAban a heads up before hiring. I'm still weary about why he would introduce a player to a booster either way, but all in all I could see him surviving this based on what the NCAA does to him...if he isnt allowed to recruit, I can't imagine Saban letting him stay. But we shall see.......

Also, notice Andre Dubose (UF player) named in these allegations, as well as an UGA commitment, and Marve is now at Purdue.

True...from a compliance perspective...but losing the OL coach at the beginning of the season could be a big hit to us.

I would think Coach Saban could recruit Coach Pendry into holding off his retirement 1 more season..I don't see Coach Pendry saying no in a situation like this..JMO

In this world of bloggers (and 2nd rate bloggers when you think SBB & Clay Travis), and good-for-nothing hacks like Scabinsky, it's refreshing to see someone who appears to have really worked hard on getting factual information out there.

The fallout from this story will be intense to watch. If all of these allegations and stories are indeed discovered to be true by the NCAA, I do not see how they can do anything but absolutely destroy Miami. If not the actual death penalty, it will have to something similar. The key to the investigation will be just how much or how little can be tied to university officials (coaches, administration- you name it).

-- Stoutland gets put into a no-show job. Stay home until we know what's what. If it turns out good for him, he's back. If not, well, we're sorry. Until it's settled, he gets paid.
-- Don't know if that might cause a numbers crunch regarding NCAA coaching limitations, but I bet we could get dispensation under the circumstances.
-- Pendry steps in until January.
-- By then, we know.

Unfortunately for Stoutland, he has to come out totally and unquestionably innocent. We have to be like Caesar's wife -- we simply can't afford even the appearanceo f a shadow of a doubt.

I agree 100% with ya..Bama will be fine should we need to call on Coach Pendry in a pinch..Now Coach Stoutland..Not so much..I don't see this turning out good for him..

True to a certain degree, but he had to do a hours of corroboration, interviewing, paper trail review, follow up phone calls, etc. A hack might have just sat down with the guy and reported what the guy said and not done any further investigation, just lobbed the accusations out there. Robinson didn't do that. It's organized and well-reported. It's obvious he did his job, and in this day of internet "reporting" and rumor-mongering, it's refreshing to see.
