Thought was he wanted a meeting with his team this morning...as they day went on, some are now wondering if he has changed his mind or if there was more to it than just meeting with players.

I have no clue why the delay, my guess would be not favorable to Bama if it goes on much longer, but I doubt it is because of saving $100,000. At this point, the money spigot is fully open and flowing, so what's another $100 grand in the scheme of things. Two weeks on the new job learning about team, bonding with players and pulling Ingram or other unsigned commits into the fold is much more valuable at this point. :)

Assuming we have no transfers and our signees stick with us we should have a pretty solid team next year, one that is capable of getting a NCAA tourney invite. We will need Tarrant, Kessens, and Hale to all recover and remain healthy. Retin could be incredible but he needs to be more consistent. Taylor needs to continue to improve and learn to not foul so much on defense. Norris is a scrapper and will continue to improve. Just a gut feeling but I think Marshall could do great things with Norris.

Just a few random thoughts to pass the time while we wait. :-)

Oh please, no... for the love of all that is sacred.

I really hope Marshall ends up at Alabama, but with most other qualified candidates either signing extensions, or with new schools, I'd almost prefer Alabama just continue waving around 3+ million per year until someone that at least has more than their dad is famous on their resume comes along. Alabama did that once before, and I hated it then as well.

If Alabama misses out on Marshall, they better hope Smart is still available, and if Smart isn't available? They need to go coax someone out of retirement or something.

It does seem to me that we would have been better off with Grant than to go this route (i.e. CRP).

No idea if this is true, but I've heard that his dad has long had the ear of C.M. Newton. Man, I’m nauseous now.
 
Seems like if it was a definite no to Alabama from Marshall, they would have announced something for sake of recruiting and so forth from the WS end of things. It is plausible he really likes it there and is torn, and is trying to decide. Maybe Tx through a monkeywrench into it all. I for one am thankful for the drama. We could be just dreading next season.

If the answer is no then I think you would hear that from the WSU side. From our side you would start to hear other names starting to be consider. I don't consider the Pitino story to be credible yet. I think that is his camp trying to stir the pot. But I could be wrong.
 
Ok, there is a 0% chance that Richard Pitino is our second choice. I would literally prefer calling Coach Grant up, apologizing and giving him a second chance.
