Greetings direct from the lovely city of Wetumpka. Just saw the replay from 2010 Iron Bowl today and got steamed all over again. In all my years (pushing 70), I don't think I've ever seen a game where a team was so fortunate to win. Been following Bama football since early 60s and that game ranks high on the list as hard to swallow. I'm looking forward to this year's IB to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

Welcome, by a fellow member of the OFC to another member.

Gotta ask, of all the games to watch, why did you pick that one? For me, it would be like rubbing a Brillo pad over a boil.

Anyways, enjoy THE place for the discerning Bama fan.

Welcome aboard. I grew up just a few miles west of Wetumpka on Highway 14, in a little town called Prattville. Ever heard of it?

Seriously though, welcome. Glad to have another member as always, especially one from my neck of the woods.

Yes, I lived in Prattville when I retired from the Air Force in the late 70s. I'm a native Alabamian from up around Jasper, but spent 20 years all over the place from Tampa to Fairbanks and a tour in Vietnam for icing. My two sons graduated from Prattville. The oldest son went to school when Kevin Turner was attending Prattville. Prattville has grown tremendously and we wanted some room so we bought some 25 acres just across the Tallapoosa River from Montgomery.

I'm probably boring others but I wanted to reply to your inquiry. The other gentleman who asked why I picked the 2010 IB to watch, both the 2009/10 games we replayed back to back by a Montgomery station today. Bama played well for the most part but just seemed to be snakebit with some fluke plays that went against them I thought. I wanted to see when Barron became ineffective with the pectoral injury. I think he may have hurt it in the first half when he attempted to strip the receiver on the first TD pass. He seemingly couldn't raise his arms after that.

Cheers Everyone!

Welcome Terry! I love Wetumpka by the way. I lived in Elmore, then Tallassee, before moving near Orlando. My in-laws live there, sounds like real near you, near the river. we would love to go back. its home.

We moved to Prattville after Kevin Turner had already been at Bama for a couple of years. Somewhere around, I have a couple of rookie cards of his I got right after the Pats drafted him. Until Roman Harper, he was the biggest thing to come out of Prattville. I grew up behind that cemetery off Highway 14/Fairview Ave. Parents moved to Tuscaloosa a few years back, but I was actually just in Prattville about a months ago for the first time in over a year. Anyway, welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard! There's plenty of room at the bar, so belly up and post as often as you like. Make sure you've reviewed our site's posting policies (which can be found under the FAQ's).

Roll Tide!

Welcome, Terry. I share your views on the 2010 IB. I was there, and have re-watched the entire game several times, and still don't know how we lost it.
