Noel Devine To Visit?

Would be a risk to take but I think NS is the type of coach that could keep him in line and improve his life. MS would not have been that guy. Grades or test scores are up in the air but rumors keep circulating that he might pull them out.

I say you cut the kid some slack. I think having lost both parents and already having two kids at the age of 18 would cause most people to lose a great deal of focus. I just hope that Noel is able to get his life back in order and take full advantage of his God given abilities. He has had issues in the past couple of years, but don't recall any of his troubles being with the law. As for the part of him stealing Deion's car, it seems like Deion was more guilty of kidnapping Devine.

to be honest,I'm not too excited about him visiting(too much baggage)and hope he's another one of those recruits that don't show up for his visit.

Agree 100% however , I stated so a little too boldly = deleted/censored .

Re: Noel Devine

We don't need any kids that are going to be more trouble than they are worth. Let him go to Miami. They love kids like that down there.

It's a risk reward thing....

We lost with Chris Keys...
FSU lost with Fred Rouse...
Miami lost with Willie Williams..

But there are success stories out there.....

I'd hate to seem him end up at Miami where it could be detrimental...

Even Bama... because we love our players may not be too good for him...

Wisconsin... Boise St. maybe even WV may be best for him.

Kid's got talent, though... no doubt.

Not sure if this is true but I keep reading the kid has major academic issues to overcome in order to be eligible.

Good point. It would either be a perfect combination, or Devine would bolt.

I personally have no problem with us recruiting him, as it doesn't sound like his history is so bad as everyone wants to think. Grades are the issue, but if there's still some hope, why not give that talent a whirl?

Give the kid a shot. If he doesn't make the grades then place him somewhere. CNS and the rest of the coaches are more knowlegable than me so I will trust their decision.

I read that Devine is trying to plan a visit on the 26th or 2nd. It isn't confirmed yet though. I don't care what kind of problems he has had. Most teenagers with "problems" only need a vision or some direction and someone to lead them there. Saban is the man for that. I've heard that Devine's highlight tapes have been tampered with and they have been sped up.;)

i haven't heard this but he does look ridiculous on his highlight tapes. if they haven't been tampered with then he is almost inhuman or playing against subpar competition....now his grades and whatnot is a totally different issue.

Just for that fact alone.........I would steer clear of him!

Are you kidding? Imagine what the other recruits are going to think when they see Deion coming to the post-game events with Devine... I'm not a Deion fan but if the kid CAN be reigned in, Saban's his best hope. He's not going to get away with so much as a speeding ticket without paying the price.

His head coach says he's pretty much made up his mind to visit but that NS is gonna come visit him this week. He said that he is seriously considering Alabama. sounds good guys.

Well it looks like we are on Noel Devine's short list! Saban is scheduled for an in-home visit with the 5-star. This will be Noel's FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT and the only one he has scheduled. North Fort Myers HC Iandoli says that Devine has a chance to qualify.:biggrin2:

BOL is confirming that Saban as an in-home visit scheduled with Devine this week. I know there are a lot of questions surrounding this young man, but he'd be a terrific pickup as far as from a football standpoint is concerned. Freakish athlete is how BOL describes him, and if you've ever seen any of his highlight videos you'll know why!
