I saw this early this morning and felt certain someone would bring it up. No one did, so here it is.
The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing.......
"It's politics at this point," said one military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss policy. He said he thinks the administration does not want to proceed against a high-value detainee without some prospect of civilian trials for other major figures at Guantanamo Bay.

So the America-hating Muslim in the White House refusing to prosecute other Muslims who have already attacked us. Why am I not surprised?

"It's all politics"? No, I think it goes much further than that.

I saw this old quote from when W was President, I think it still applies. The original post was about a doormat the Dems had with W's photo on it.

There ARE times when we should all put politics aside and realize this is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. One may not like the current office holder, but one must respect the office. There are some things that deserve our respect regardless.
Although it was not until after the 2008 election that I saw the wisdom of BamaNation's post, I've come to appreciate it.:)

On the other hand, it used to make me feel a tad better to call W a slackjawed lying idiot, so if calling our current President an "American-hating Muslim" floats your boat, have at it.

Thanks for that, anyway. I figured I might as well use my 1st Amendment Rights to Free Speech while I still have them. :biggrin2:

Charmin, it's good to see you are still true to form. :p

I saw this a couple days ago and was immediately outraged by the headline. But headlines don't tell the whole story, as we should all know by now, given the frequency with which we are exposed to the journalistic sham of headline-baiting.

I didn't post the story because it doesn't yet have legs. The DOD is denying any halt to the prosecution.

The Defense Department issued a statement Thursday saying the case is not stalled. "Prosecutors in the Office of Military Commissions are actively investigating the case against Mr. al-Nashiri and are developing charges against him," the statement said.
And even if halted, opposition to the case appears to be centered around opposition to military tribunals and the use of evidence gathered by a semi-secret organization (CIA), not religious affiliation. Am I happy that almost 10yrs after the bombing, the perps still haven't paid the price? Hell no. Especially on the heals of the freeing of the Lockerby bomber (which IMO occurred to facilitate an oil deal between the UK and Libya, but that's beside the point). But I'm willing to sit tight for the time being and watch how this develops.

You really just can't fix stupid, folks.
Amen to that. Unfortunately we've still got two more years to put up with this yay-hoo. The little Obamatons still cling to him like lint, trying to rationalize his juvenile decisions, and basically running down everyone who dares exhibit common sense.

Srsly guys.
You say that like you think you have lots of company. Seriously, Charmin, you're in the extreme minority here, and your ranks are thinning more every day.
It's your type of attitude, one that you seemingly share with other leftist (read:Communists and Marxists) elitists , that has angered the majority of citizens in this country and united us in our quest.
You may call us stupid, but we now hold our nation's future in our hands, and in November we're reclaiming it, and restoring it. Your illustrious leader will be a lame duck in November, and will be completely out of a job in two year's time.
Then we'll see who's stupid...

The majority think that Obama is anti-American and a practicing Muslim? Sorry to disappoint, but only fools hold that view.

Once again, your liberal viewpoint shines through. Regardless of the number of examples I could quote, you would refuse to see the truth. Verily, your head is buried so deeply that nothing could ever change your mind.
It is actually funny when someone that so blindly follows obuma dares to call others stupid or fools.

So far all I can see that you have done in this thread is refer to folks who believe differently than you as stupid, nonserious, and foolish. I have yet to see any argument to support your position. If the contrary position is as stupid, nonserious, and foolish as you assert, it shouldn't be too hard for you to disabuse us ignorant folks of our notions that we are bitterly clinging to - much like God and guns, I suppose - as our solace.

Yes, that's a challenge for you to revert to actual rational argument. I'm interested to see how you will defend your positions on these things, particularly that he is anti-American, at least as most of us still understand the term.

This is starting to get funny - in a sad way. :frown:

Just so I understand you correctly, you are seriously contending that the President of the United States, who regularly attends a Christian church here in the District, (1) hates the United States of America and (2) is Muslim?

While we're at it: (3) was not born in the United States and is thus ineligible to hold the office of President?
