Okay, this is nuts, 4th quarter scoring: Bama-24 Clemson-16. This was supposed to be all the points for the whole game as picked by some folks.

Also, another game where the point spread went down to the wire. 12 seconds left in the game and it got flipped.
 
How big was that Coker scramble for the first down on 3rd and 3. Then the TD was huge on the second effort. Since Clemson went down and scored. If we only got 3. They only needed a 2 point conversion to tie.
 
We finally threw the ball to somebody besides Ridley.
OJ made about 20 million.
Great play by Kenyan Drake.
Credit to all the kids.
I can't remember exactly but I think I predicted 49-40.
Kinda close.

Championship games can much of the time be about moments of vindication. O.J. finally grabbing the spotlight and displaying athleticism and speed we haven't seen at the TE position and Griffin nailing the onside kick will be in my mind forever... but Drake's return was THE MOMENT that brought the tears on. SO proud he was able to do it after everything he's been through.

This championship will go down as one of the hardest earned and as Coach said, most special.

Drake's speed getting to the sideline and making the cut up field was amazing.

He's making up a rule about the receiving team being given a "opportunity to catch the ball." He's confused. The kicking team can no longer block the the receiving team out of the way, so there's no opportunity to receive. That was not the case here. No one was close to Humph when he caught the ball, hence no foul...
 
While I'm not the oldest guy in this forum, I'm certainly longer in the tooth than many.

I saw my first Alabama game in 1968. I have lived and died with Bama ever since. You folks that weren't around for the Bryant years need to cherish ever moment of what we have here. No one is a bigger Bryant guy than I. I've got a huge lithograph of the man in my office. But I'm telling you what Coach Nick Saban has brought here is special. These last seven years are the most gratifying I've ever experienced.

Fame is fleeting. Enjoy this ride. I know I have.

If Coach Saban were to leave tomorrow, I'd pat him on the back and simply say "Thank you. Thank you Coach for giving me something I didn't think was achievable in these days of scholarship limits and wide open offense."

No. Clemson could have actually called a fair catch if Giffith didn't bounce it off the ground and Clemson would have retained possession whether or not we caught it or any Clemson player was nearby. Hence why all onside kicks are bounced off the ground (initiating contact with the ground or, say, an opposing player negates a fair catch call). We caught Clemson napping.

Dabo simply doesn't know the rules and was arguing that they didn't have the opportunity to catch the kick. That is not a rule. As the kicking team, you used to be able to straight up unload on a guy trying to catch the insides kick, even before he touched the ball. Think Tennessee's onside kick recovery in 09 where they straight tackled Julio before he could grab the ball. That rule has changed to where you have to give them the opportunity to catch it. But that had nothing to do with this play because there wasn't an orange jersey within 15yds of our guy.

Exactly. Bama staff recognized this flaw and went for it. Since the ball never hit the ground, a Clemson player could have called fair catch had he been over there and thought about it.

I've looked at the replays and I don't think the ball touched the ground. I understand that it is normally done that way to avoid the opportunity for a fair catch.
