Nice improvement in our kicking game too. Good job Cade and Jeremy.

The comments about Hanks making phenomenal catches were spot on, but imagine what would have happened had they been thrown in stride allowing for yards after catch. I don't recall the TV screen being cluttered with orange jerseys.
Putting together a first aid kit to have on the coffee table for Nov. 5. Wife's taking a refresher first aid course. Afraid I might get hurt just watching that game.

With regard to Cade kicking deeper, was it just me or did he fall away from the tee spot differently after the kick than previously? Seems there may have been a change in kicking style.

Matt Simms's hometown is a stones through away from where I grew up in Bloomingdale, NJ. He gave it his all against us, but it wasn't enough, our D shut down in the the 2nd half. Hats off to Chris for getting an opportunity to play at Tenn, he is a good kid.

One O Lineman has took a lot of heat on here over the previous games, well he was not in & the first half they did not look good, I think the O line Must function as a unit & when one goes (even if he is the weaker player) then the whole unit suffers. We have Got to stop the holding calls near the endzone. I think some of the Leaders on the team (not the coaches) had some words of inspiration to the entire offense, He may wear #30 they don't worry we got your back attitude of this defense really brings out the best in our offense.

Now with that rant done This is just another week where Smelley really impressed me. I know Trent is Great, All the backs & wide recievers are playing Great. But this guy has Grown so much this year. I now think that when the ball comes in his direction #1. He is Going to catch it. #2. He is going to fight for the first down. #3. He is always paying attention to what is going on & how he can help.

Most improved Player to me is Smelley, he will make a Great catch that will be a Game winner this year when we really need it. Coach Saban talks about his blocking has improved but to me he is just a heads up smart football player.

I really enjoy watching this team & for anyone who sys they should have done this or that, remember we are getting Everybody's BEST game. Now they can all get healed up & focus on the honey Badgers.

I got to meet his brother several times when he was playing for the Bucs before Jon Gruden ruined him. Classy guy super nice, Great family. I'm glad the kid did not get hurt & I think he will do really good . go back & look at Payton's game against us in 94, after that he took off, we will be worried about Matt next year I assure you.

This! WV has far too much experience to be doing takedowns right in front of an official...

Yep. I would understand if it was our right tackle maybe but not WV. It does intrigue me how most coaches respond to a holding call even when it's down near the goal line.....usually not much response as if they know the lineman hold more than they don't. They just get caught sometimes.

Matt is a senior I believe. Plus, Tyler Bray is the starting QB and will be back healthy next year.

Very quickly before we get too far away from the Tennessee game. I spoke with someone this morning who was in the locker room at halftime Saturday night. Very encouraging stuff. I know all of us here assumed that Coach Saban ripped some people some new ones (even some former Bama players expressed as much on Twitter)...

But my guy tells me that Coach Saban didn't do anything out of the ordinary. It was, instead, the senior leaders (Hightower, Vlachos, Upshaw, and to a lesser extent, Barron, because he doesn't talk much) that spoke up and challenged all of the guys around them.

That's always great to hear. The coaches can't be on the field. So it's always good to know that there are some guys (and in our case, a LOT of guys) that take on that challenge to lead the others.

Good to hear that. I don't think either team (Bama/LSU) can afford on November 5th to take a half "off" before deciding to get going.

I think on the news last night that Upshaw said Maze was quite vocal in the locker room. I really like to see this type from the players so the coaches don't have to do it, the results are always better, and it teached the young 'uns how they are supposed to behave. I wish this would happen before taking the field instead of at the half, but I'll take the results.

This was exactly what we were missing a year ago.
