Bama Game Thread: Official Complaint Thread - Bama vs. UGA, SECCG...

When you don't have a vertical passing game, no running game, Kirby is not no dummy, he took away what bama does well, Grubb made no adjustments and TY was awful plain and simple
18 pressures, 3 sacks and 10 drops....hard to do much with that....i think our Special teams are sneaking below the radar on taking some blame...a blocked punt, punt return yards and poor punt distance...UGA punter killed us by pinning us deep....we gave them field position when punting...

Two complaints. One it wasn’t that we lost, it’s how. Three times this season it’s been about how. Two we are wasting what I feel is the best defense in college football. You may not think so, but they have been constantly put in a rough spot and I have to feel for them on that.

OL is awful...and Grubb doesnt help with his play calling...there are too many talented players on this roster for this to be how we play...and that's on the Coaches...starting with Grubb...and Special teams...and Deboer
I hear this often about how much talent we have. If Saban enlightened us any at all it should have been that this is a line of scrimmage league. And we have continued to sign four star (and a few five star) guys that should be able to develop into good players. I have seen some signs on the DLine this year that this is taking place even though it is not to the level we became accustomed between 2009 and 2016 but this is a different world and we are playing a much different style. I do think I see depth developing there even though we are not signing the kind of guys we were 10 and 12 years ago.
On the offensive side we are not seeing any development at all. Technique is horrid. Strength is even worse. And the piecemeal way we have approached the year has not allowed any cohesion to aid a bad roster situation. The first place that shows up is in the run game. Bad footwork. Missed assignments. Uncertainty. Inability to make yards by just running a play and blocking the guy across from you. The only way we make yards against "normal" SEC defenses is by trickery. (Bill Curry, anyone?)
We have signed more than our share of talented defensive backs and they seem to be developing well. #1 is even playing better and with more heart.
But the offensive line is a disaster and I see nothing in the depth chart or the coaching staff that leads me to believe it's going to get better next year, especially with normal attrition.

Besides the QB and OL, both awful today, why can't our flaunted wide receivers get open? Every pass beyond 15 yds was a jump ball.

All the called routes were intermediate routes. This allows the secondary to match up zone and converge on the WRs. To defeat zone, the ball has to come out quick before the secondary can find the WRs. We quit doing that in the SC game.

100% not sure why that changed...quick outs were our go to...

Two words... Heisman Trophy.

Got hurt trying to show we could complete intermediate to long throws against a team that could not threaten us with a loss but almost did. Defense saved us.

Our coaches probably thought that was best for Ty, one and done 1st round pick. Then we could focus on the future with Mack or Russell.

Alot of stuff done on the field doesnt have anything to do with winning the next play. Saban did it, all coaches do it.

And we broke our team in the process.

Its year 2 and I still dont know where we are headed as a team. Offense or defense. Sort of like the Seattle coach said just doing stuff because it worked once.

If that was the thought process, then I am less optimistic about this coaching staff than I was before your post

The special teams haven't had a ton of breakdowns, but they have all come at costly junctures...

Although that is also what makes them costly.

I heard that the blocker last night went through a back up for LT's spot... if so... there go injuries again.
