1) the Mac type philosophy ain't coming backI hope Sark and Saban move us back to a more traditional pro-style philosophy. I saw glimpses last night in running the ball from under center. Our offense now looks too much like Auburn's where if we don't have elite QB play we struggle offensively. All of our recent NCs were built around a passing QB who can hurt you with the play action.
From the LSU game on we put our passing game on the shelf and didn't challenge Hurts to develop in this area. By and large our offense almost looked like it was being called by Anthony Grant. We rode our defense until it broke.
You can't expect a defense not falter when it's on the field 99 plays. I really feel we should have continued to run the ball more from my vantage point in the stadium. There were opportunities off tackle and in space for Harris and Jacobs to make some hay. Bouleware is not an arm tackler.
Interestingly I thought the timeout we took right before the half to try was not a good idea as we basically had to put the defense back on the field instead of giving them a 30 minute half time.
In retrospect there was simply too much distraction to overcome. It looked to me like we had about 12 offensive play options.

2) we are nothing like Auburn and Malzhan's offense. We just have a freshman qb having freshman moments. People forget how average and sometimes below average AJ was in his first year as a starter as a sophomore. He faced only one top 10 defense while Jalen has faced 4-5.
3) controversial no calls aside, the defense had no answer for renfro or leggitt.
4) our offenses the past 3 years has been based around the run. The main difference is that Henry was more dominant, and Clemson didn't respect Jake Coker. Clemson was far more concerned about hurts than they were Coker
