Money well spentI believe we do get fined for this and our AD has gladly paid it every year for 15 years.

Tell them they can register their complaints at a local Knoxville McDonald’s. Have them squeeze a little extra French’s mustard on that “nothing burger”, chase it with a Natty Lite and swallow extra hard…The Vowels are complaining that smoking isn’t allowed in stadiums and Bama should be fined like golf ball throwers
Isn't that the issue? Especially against a team who runs the, what, 3d fastest tempo offense in college football? This is a coaching issue. Schemes need to only complex enough to cover likelihood, not every conceivable mathematical possibility. Simplify the coverages and let the players natural and coach-improved talents take over.Good assessment. I think Josh Jobe just got caught off guard with Tennessee going up-tempo and before he could even get the signals from the bench the vols were snapping the ball.
I feel like you coach the players for every possible situation they can see. You don’t leave anything to chance. With the way football is now you can’t treat the players like they are in little league. If they looked unprepared we would be having a fit too. They are college athletes who know a lot because of the drills they perform on a daily basis. They get coaches hard, they just have to apply what they hear, see and do in practice.Isn't that the issue? Especially against a team who runs the, what, 3d fastest tempo offense in college football? I dont disagree. Coach em hard in practice and the film room, and make them prepared for what they are expected to see. but dont install plans so complex that they can't work off what they've learned during the week rather than looking to the sidelines for the perfect setup. Tell me what exactly the Tennessee passing offense was doing that was so innovative that it needed Golding to personally instruct every DB on what and where they were supposed to do and be on every play? Then add that to the tempo they run where you don't have the time to do that. No. The confusion last night was a direct result of coaching and schemes or lack thereof.I feel like you coach the players for every possible situation they can see. We just play so sloppy and/or lethargic at times. It’s infuriating.Tennessee had 346 yards of offense. 166 yards of that came off of 3 passing plays. Alabama held Tennessee to well below their rushing average. I still don’t know what to make of this team.
any video of Brandon Turnage greeting Bama players? Well, other than getting reacquainted with Roydell Williams!fifteenessee fans continue to trash To'o To'o, but it's obvious the players love him:
They played OK, most of the game. Biggest thing was no dumb PI flags that I can recall! First game in awhile with no PI’s !Good win, but the defense, more specifically the secondary, needs major improvement. The OL had some not so good moments in pass protection, it needs work too. Special teams needs a refresher course. Hopefully the bye week will give help with focus and healing of injuries.
I saw that as well, I think it affected how WR kicked the ball. Better to miss the FG than get it blocked with only UT players running the direction of the block! But that is a special teams failure! The line blocking on WR's 54yd attempt was not great. There was an edge rusher pressuring the kick that probably contributed to him shorting the kick. He can make it from that distance with good protection.
Special teams failures aside. it’s great that he immediately came back and hit a 45 yarder. Reichard is the Man.I saw that as well, I think it affected how WR kicked the ball. I meant a failure to not block the UT rusher or scheme to make it harder to get to the kicker , not so much Will’s failure! Will Reichard is the best kicker in football.Special teams failures aside. it’s great that he immediately came back and hit a 45 yarder. Reichard is the Man.
Oh I know that. I wasn’t critiquing your post. I just like to take any opportunity I can to brag on will reichard.I meant a failure to not block the UT rusher or scheme to make it harder to get to the kicker , not so much Will’s failure! Will Reichard is the best kicker in football.

I agree. The gameplan is fairly obvious with the opponent looking for man coverage against Hellams or Wright to find the mismatch and it typically turns into a big play (Jobe got caught flat fooded on the play he got burned on). Other than 3 or 4 plays we played good D holding them to less than 350 yards. If we can figure out a way to cover from the saftey position I think we will be good to go the rest of the way.Overall, I thought we played a pretty good game. I'm always happy when we clamp down on the opponent's run game. A few big bonehead plays cancelled out our dominance for 3 quarters. Our tendency to make big mistakes in the secondary is really concerning. Just about any quarterback can hit receivers when they are wide open.
Remember when those kind of offenses gave us trouble for the whole game? Not just occasional busted coverages.I agree. . Cedric Tillman after the loss: "There was no doubt in our mind that we had them in the fourth quarter. Lack of execution is what happened.
