Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama@TAMU...

I don't think our RB corps is up to previous seasons' standards. McClellan is the best we have. He has good speed, good vision, good strength. He's usually reliable in pass protection. I don't think anyone else we have shows anything special.

Our OL issues are a big part of RB performance compared to previous teams, but they are getting better while the guys carrying the rock... not so much. Jess's previews haven't ranked our RB's over our opponents yet this season (I think; ICBR).

Can we win a title without a Heisman hopeful at RB?
The RBs are victims of us not having a short passing game. Those defensive players don’t have to focus on the pass. And just clog up the middle

Someone was screaming for quick slants. That would help the running game tremendously

At least today we gave future defenses something to think about as we threw several short to medium throws.

That slant pass to Burton was as pretty as Tua to Waddle.

IF JM can reproduce those type of plays it totally chances our offense when you couple it with what's already a pretty good deep threat.

Running game might start coming around.

Was Milroe hurt today? I know there were rumors, but the one run he did have he looked slower than usual, and I don't think there were any called QB runs. Regardless, a great win and he really progressed as a passer.

This is the best defense in the county. Period. They might not be the best statistically, but this is the best D we've had since 2017.
It looked like he was moving fine ... just had nowhere to scramble. I was impressed that he was able to win this game staying in the pocket.

Play of the game was the first down at the end. Crazy but that sealed it. Justin E. Gets player of game for me. Dude came up with that safety like a boss.
We shouldn't have needed that play to seal anything. I thought the officiating was nearly as atrocious as the Tenn game in Neyland last year. Did A&M get any PI calls? If not...they need to remove those from the books. And the Roughing the Passer call was a total joke. They scored after that fiasco. Sour grapes I know, but it happened.

It looked like they made the decision at halftime to sink or swim with the passing game. I'm not sure what the third qtr. run/pass ratio was but the O looked much different in terms of play calling than it has all year. Milroe responded beautifully and held his composure after the pick. Slow and steady improvement. I'll take it....

Just finished watching the Replay…

We beat them worse than the score for sure.

It easily could have been 31-17 and ended on a 21-0 run by us.

The Defense will have a hiccup here and there but for the most part they are playing Excellent.

Golding would have cost us this one without a doubt.

Steele has been a MAJOR upgrade.

Jalen had more ups and downs but I’m not going to nitpick because ultimately the Good outweighed the Bad. He took some more bad sacks BUT he also made some BIG throws.

Burton had a GREAT game too. He talks a bit too much but if he plays like this I can let it slide..lol

Reichard and Burnip are AMAZING.

We control our destiny for the SECW and if we eliminate the Penalties and continue to improve we have a Good Shot at going to Atlanta.

I was wrong about this team and I’m glad I was wrong.

Roll Tide!!!

He’s getting better and better. He has to fix taking sacks. Some of those where on him. Tuck it and run Jalen. You’re too talented not to
That one sack in the 4th quarter when we just wanted the clock to run, was the best thing he could have done. Was not a time to risk the ball. Just take the sack.

Really good win against a really good team.

Yes. We did not play a slouch by any stretch today. We beat a good team, at their place, in front of 100,000 screaming nuts. And we did it doing stuff everyone said we would have trouble doing. This team is growing right before our eyes, and I'm feeling better about them. Roll Tide.

No. I saw those rumors about him having a hammy from practice. Not true.

I've mentioned slant and crossing routes before. My goal in that would be to give the QB Spy something else to do besides focusing on the QB. I see how that would make more space for the RBs.

I'm worried about the number of guys we have that can really make use of that space and move the chains. It seems that aside from McClellan, the ball carrier just runs into the nearest scrum and looks for a place to fall down. I dunno if they lack the can-do or want-to but one or the other seems lacking.

Ok, i can't really blame milroe for the bounce pass. I do blame him for saying " ok, whose bright idea was it to call a pass in this situation? We gonna run the ball and get the heck outta here."
I don't recall him saying that. I do know Saban didn't like the play. Running the ball was the best thing at that point, to run the clock out.
