Got to say it again. Incredible job by the d. I have definitely questioned it but the d line has started to get a push and make plays and alignment is better. Props to them. Offense made big plays again. Great team win excluding the kicking game.
Hope Jam and meadows have quick recovery, had back to back concussions in college and took a semester to mentally recover, bad grades, focus and the works from them.
I got a bad concussion playing rugby at bama, I don’t know how long I was out but I remember waking up with the whole team gathered around me, so it must have been a decent interval. I was in a mental fog for about a week. Was not a fun experience.

Question- was talking with a friend and he said that Ty threw a hospital pass to Meadows and the injury is mostly at Ty’s feet. Anybody else see it that way? Or was it a good pass into a tight window.

I didn’t see it as hanging him out to dry or anything.

It was maybe a bit high but Ty was probably trying to fit it in where only his WR could get it.

Meadows came down to the ground before he was hit or as he was getting hit.

There was also about 8-10 yards of separation between Meadows and the Safety when the ball was thrown.

It also almost looks the like CB pushes Meadows into the hit…. and the hit itself was unnecessarily violent.

I mean it was almost like the Mizzou players High-Low’d him on purpose.

I don’t see how that’s Ty’s fault.

It’s not the same as throwing a Slant to a WR you see is about to get blasted by a LB coming in head on or anything.

Thats how I saw it, but I was watching that half at a sports bar so didnt have the best view, plus the TV was muted.

And yeah, I thought that hit was intentionally dirty, and that in the moment the safety decided to high-low him to make it hurt and hopefully drop the pass.

Back in the day you absolutely avoid passes like that because you were putting your receiver in danger. The targeting and defenseless rules though are there to protect against this very thing. Now, if you don't attempt those kind of plays you are just putting yourself at a disadvantage.

I have not heard this mentioned much, but the unsportsmanlike penalty against Zion Young was pretty important.
Mizzou had driven fairly easily down the field for an opening drive TD.
Bama had had a yard loss on its opening play, then a 3-4 yard loss on 2nd down, it was going to be 3rd and long (~15), but Mr. Young, who was not even part of the tackle, decided it would be a good idea to run over and flex over the tackled Alabama player. 15 yards unsportsmanlike penalty, Alabama 1st and 10, Bama goes on to score a TD to tie things up.
Trying to set the tone for the game, an unforced error by a self-centered Mizzou player really hurt his team. His teammate had just made a very good play, and Young completely negated that.
I hope our players were watching and learning.
