Game Thread: OFFICIAL POSTGAME THREAD - Bama vs. Hogs...

I know our defense didn't play a good game but ark is improving every game. Do not take that away from them. One of the positive things that come out of this is the D got some schooling for the rest of the season. I do believe we are fine.

Defense is usually more consistent than offense game to game. The offense can have a dropped pass, turn the ball over, QB gets hurt (Tagovailoa has shown some signs of being dinged up), etc. and 70 points may not be reachable. I've seen too many high scoring teams hit a roadblock along the way and not have the defense to win the game for them.

I'm not too worried because I think the mental errors will get worked out and most of the defensive issues this year have been due to missed assignments and mix ups between players.

Just my two cents and that’s not much—Mack Wilson and Dylan Moses seem to be struggling in their roles on the D. They constantly seem to be out of place. In fact, frankly, many times to me they look lost and very ineffective in reading the O and making the on-field calls(Mac) I’m not sure what the answer is but as I have been saying, I don’t care how good this O is but at some point we will have to play very if not spectacularly good on D to win a championship. Ark was ranked 108th in total O coming into this game and moved the ball almost at will against us.

JMO, but I think that Saban should let Jennings make the defensive calls.

Roll Tide! This offense is so much fun to watch. Tua is just incredible and so are the receivers. The O-line does a pretty good job. I thought on the 4th down that we were stopped on, Robinson just missed his block and the guy he should have blocked made the play. The defense needs to tighten up but we do have the best coach. He will get it fixed. I also think Coach Locksley is pretty good too. He calls a good game.

I believe if you watch the replay, you’ll see many of the starters still in the game for big chunks of the 4th quarter. The same Arkansas things that befuddled the defense in the first half were still working in the 4th.

How was this not true? Did starters gave up 14 points?

Does the defense need some work? Sure it does.
Consider this: in the last 2 years we have had 16 players drafted off the defense. That's a lot of experience and leadership. Also, we have a totally revamped coaching staff. It's almost the perfect storm.
Now, consider this: if Tua can stay healthy and Hurts continue to improve then I still like our chances.

My question was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but thanks for the answer. Punters do serve as holders for some teams, wasn’t sure about ours.

Watching LSU/UF now and LSU's left tackle got called for holding on something the Hogs were allowed to get away with all game...

Well, I won’t go full conspiracy mode, but it makes you wonder at times about how some refs call penalties against Bama........ “almost” like they are trying to slow them down....... “almost”........; )
