I get New Orleans is a party town, but if that guy was truly drunk, it was pretty unprofessional of him as the CEO of a major company on national television.

Bama was definitely one of the best four teams in the country. This particular selection committee decided to go with " most deserving" rather than " the four best" . They are charged to get the " four best". This committee was made up of administrators, ADs, and others with little football experience. I think there was only on former coach. They went by statistical and analytical models and very little on common sense or "eye test".
Bama would have been favored against all but Georgia.
Georgia was very glad Bama was not in the playoff.

Politics are involved also. A two-loss team rarely has a chance over a one loss team, no matter how impressive. Appearances...

I’m old enough to remember a time when any season that ended with a Sugar Bowl win was a great season.
Me too but that was when the SEC champ got the invite and was likely in the running for the title outright or might need one team to lose to get the title.

As I said earlier, it was a good win and the defense played great for 3 quarters. Keep in mind however this was Kansas State, not an SEC team we beat. I still contend that Golding's defense cannot play like it did today against the SEC's best teams. He needs to go.
I must admit, i was torn today. I grew up in junction city kansas in the years prior to bill snyder. I remember paying $12 for tickets to ksu games and sitting whereever you want . I watched Barry Switzer and Brian Bosworth beat them by 70. The biggest crowd i saw was when Army played them. It seemed that every officer and noncom was at the game that night.

Snyder was hired the year after dad got orders and we transfered out. Snyder retired years later and they hired Ron Prince. I was happy for Ron. He was a senior at Junction City High School when i was a sophmore. KSU has always been my adopted team and i have always pulled for them. Except today.

I have not been reading or posting today...so this may have been discussed and if so I apologize...did CNS say that we played better offensively when we started calling plays with a purpose and not just randomly? Thought I heard that somewhere on the broadcast....
You heard that right. I was stunned by that comment. It was very telling. Going back to McElwain we have had good OC's, for the most part, that called plays with a purpose and had a plan.
