Game Thread: OFFICIAL POSTGAME THREAD - Bama vs. MSU...

Greeks, clubs and even departments get blocked off seating in the lower bowl where everyone else's student section usually is. Our actual student section is in the upper end zone, where you'd usually put visitors. It's terrible for the average student. Far away from the action and can't really affect the game. Compare that to pretty much literally every other stadium where the student section is right on the field.

Yes, I know the Greeks are students, too. But, and this is no secret or even a knock, just a fact: They tend to leave early, arrive late, or otherwise be less than involved in the game. There are exceptions, of course, but when you are "entitled" to your seat because of your letters and you're a drunk 20 yr old, that's how it goes on game day.

If I'm not mistaken, the Block Seating is for the Greek Students and the showing was very poor today. Game wasn't even decided yet and the students started leaving. To see other school's student sections staying and being extremely loud regardless or the opponent or score makes me a bit jealous. This shouldn't be happening at Alabama in the middle of a dynasty.

This is terrible!!!

I'd change this arrangement before I'd spend millions on renovation and taking out seats!

And let some average Joe's have more access to tickets. Makes me sick that these guys don't care enough to watch a decent game.

Painting with a broad brush here, I'm sure, but sounds like a bunch a spoiled preppies.

Today was a lethargic performance in many ways. The team seemed disinterested, the weather was cold as heck and the crowd was quiet. I'm happy about the win but we have to perform better in two weeks.

Disagree. Defense played their heart out today. We got a shutout because of their performance. Offense was playing well until D.Brown got injured and it went downhill from there, causing Tua to get hurt several times. There was several missed blocks by our RBs including N. Harris. There was nothing to suggest that the team was disinterested tonight. When Cotton came in, the dyamic of the OL changed and it really affected them as a whole.

Any word on Brown?

I believe we could have used Najee in the second half when MSU was stuffing the run. He's bigger and stronger than the other backs. I said the same in the game thread and someone said it was probably because they didn't want to risk further injury to his ankle. But he was in the game earlier and had some decent runs. He may have tweaked the ankle again in the game, but I think he was pulled when he didn't pick up the blitz on one play. I didn't see him again after that play.

But at the end of the game, when we were running on every play anyway, I think he could have been effective, especially on the goal line runs.

Back when I taught at Bama (not that long ago and during the Saban era, when we should have the best home field advantage in the game), I watched frats run people out of "their" seats only to leave at halftime. Entitlement breeds complacency. End block seating now, and let ALL students into lower bowl. Then we will have a real student section like everyone else.

It was probably too cold for the precious little angels.

It might be the way it comes across on tv, but BDS just doesn’t seem loud like it would disrupt the opposing team. What I heard on tv last week against LSU and what I’m hearing tonight with Georgia, BDS doesn’t compare or at least today anyway. Is it louder in person? Have the fans become complacent? Let’s hope at the iron bowl, the fans are rowdy and loud.

I attended 2 games there this week. Very quiet against Ark State and very loud against aTm. On TV today it was definitely not as loud as it was when Mizzou was in town. But the crowd's job is to affect the opposition's offense, and MSU didn't score, so it made no difference today.

It is a lot louder in person. I am sure BDS will be rocking against Auburn.

Last time BDS got REALLY loud was against LSU in 2015. It got so loud that we couldn’t hear the whistle when we thought we had a safety. Crowd was deafening from start to finish.

For whatever reason, our fans have never been loud compared with most other teams' fans. I remember in the old iron bowl games at Legion Field, when the crowds were split fifty-fifty, they were always twice as loud. They seemed to squeal.

Football is by its nature a physical sport. Rest assured barn defenders will do every thing within their power in two weeks to inflict as much pain
as possible on Tuas leg in two weeks and to knock him out of the game. If you think anything else then you are simply very naive.

The fans should make it their personal mission to be as loud as they possibly can in two week against the barn. It's a massive match up and a chance for major league revenge.

I was there today.... it may not have been the loudest ever... but it had its moments. Overall it was a very good atmosphere for college football.
