Progress was made tonight.

Davonta and Najee stepped up their game in Jaylen’s absence.
Loved seeing the D wrapping up and finishing tackles.

Make no mistake, MSU is a bad football team; but we made progress tonight. Watching Clemson today and our game tonight, I’m feeling a lot better about our chances in the postseason.

Roll Tide!

I want to talk about Mac's throws tonight. Several of his throws were short and under tonight. Some has alluded on twitter that Mac could be simply tired and Bye week will make him more fresh.
He faced a very good defensive front 7 that used some great pressure schemes. That had him throwing flat footed a whole lot more tonight than usual. And even when he had time, you could tell that he was feeling the pressure.

Give MSU's defense some credit - they came to play.

I was happy to see us play better defensively. Playing 3 or 4 down and zone behind it while picking and choosing when to go man to man.
And tackling (especially wrapping up) has vastly improved.

Agreed. A few of his deep passes were thrown short, because of this. He should have had a couple more TD passes. But State had him flustered. This was probably our worst offensive game besides Missouri in the opener and yet still had 500 yards.

The bye week falls perfectly for us.
