he was briefly Mizzou’s OC under Odom.I have no knowledge of how Dooley is as a coordinator (I know he wasn’t a great head coach) so I am in the dark about whether or not that would be a good or bad thing for us.

I meant more like “is he any good??”he was briefly Mizzou’s OC under Odom.
Mizzou wasn't that year. I think everybody got fired.I meant more like “is he any good??”
That’s the million dollar question. Back in the day he was highly regarded as a great position coach. But like Pelini proved last year… time has a weird habit of changing perceptions.I meant more like “is he any good??”
Not exactly confidence Inspiring….then again you never know what is going on internally at a place.Mizzou wasn't that year. I think everybody got fired.
( This is purely speculation) I get the sense that Dooley would shut his mouth and do what his told and let the talent do the work. Which is what we need for this season. As another poster said (keep it simple stupid). Was talking to a drinking buddy and he was like “I am a patriots fan here is what you need to know about BOB. He would get into arguments with Tom Brady and say Brady “needed to get with the program”. This is after Tom had won 3 Super Bowls by the way. Once again this is all speculation and hearsay. That’s the million dollar question. Back in the day he was highly regarded as a great position coach. Dooley and Wiggins were the names being floated around about getting promotions when BoB looked like he was going back to NE. That’s why I said Dooley. It could be a train wreck or mana from heaven, but what we have is not cutting it.
Apparently Alabama gets all the calls all the time and stuff. That sounds like a great idea to arbitrarily blame us for cheating were it not for the fact that time is officially kept on the field.
If it’s wrong it’s a ref screwup, which given the rest of the game ain’t a surprise. It’s also incumbent on a coach to know that, too.
Trying to blame our clock operator is apparently to be added to the list of excuses that now includes:
- our starting QB was injured
- didn’t call pass interference
- the SEC offices are in Bham
- whatever else they can come up with
No not really. I remember watching that play out on live television.
Yeah, I was pretty upset. Should never post when angry.Yes, but saying he should transfer immediately, as well as saying he should never be allowed to QB again is unnecessary. You’re better than that.
This should be a universal maxim for this board...I've looked back and regretted more than one post!Yeah, I was pretty upset. Should never post when angry.
They fired Schnellenberger after one season, so there is precedent for that in Norman. I don’t see it happening though. OU fans that I talk to are now saying they should have hired Kiffin.I was thinking OU probly has buyers remorse for the Venerables hire. Could they can him after a year and go for the ucheat coach with a brinks truck?
I was wondering about that. Everyone knows how good Will Anderson is, but I don't think I've ever seen an offensive lineman opposite him called for holding. Has it ever happened?Sitting here watching Cowboys - Rams. Holding call on Cowboys. FOX Color guy - Gregg Olson makes comment “yeah you bear hug someone like that and it will get called every time “.
Me - (thinking) “yeah unless it is an SEC crew and your name is Will Anderson”.
Getting held? Frequently. Getting called… rarely if ever.I was wondering about that. Everyone knows how good Will Anderson is, but I don't think I've ever seen an offensive lineman opposite him called for holding. Has it ever happened?
Yeah, I believe that was a play where Gary said that Will "almost got to him"Getting held? Frequently. Getting called… rarely if ever.
On one of TAMU TD passes, Anderson was lined up on the edge of the RT tackle. He literally “beat hugged” Will and took him to the ground. No call, of course.
I still have the TV broadcast recorded. Looks like 5 seconds on the TV clock when Battle took a knee.So i read an interesting post online from Barstool I think and maybe y'all can help me out in this. When Bama made that int, which should have sealed the win, but got a PI instead there were 6 seconds on the clock when Battle's knee was down and it looked like 3 seconds were run off so instead of 6 seconds left in the game there were 3. I don't have the link unfortunately.
Unfortunately I would have to say yes. Social media was just starting to gain serious traction 13 years ago (Instagram did not even exist yet) and really has only blown up in the last 5 or so years. I don't think it is possible to overstate the effects social media has wracked upon our society.Have things culturally changed that dramatically in 13 years?
There was an epic meltdown on the sideline where BoB had to restrained by Aaron Hernandez and Bill Belichick because Brady told him he sucked at calling plays.( This is purely speculation) I get the sense that Dooley would shut his mouth and do what his told and let the talent do the work. Which is what we need for this season. As another poster said (keep it simple stupid). Was talking to a drinking buddy and he was like “I am a patriots fan here is what you need to know about BOB.
