Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. UGA...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Why was Nessler referring to Bond's 4th & 20 catch as "controversial?" The booth makes tge decision to stop play and review a close call. But that wasn't close at all. He had both hands under the ball and the ball never touched the ground.

There was a slight movement of the ball as he rolled over, but you're right, I never saw it hit the ground, and he never lost control of the ball. It was after we scored that Gary and Co. started wondering why they didn't look at the play. Hey Gary, if they didn't check it, it's because they didn't think it was issue.

It did touch the ground but did not move enough to say it affected possession

The ball touched the ground and moved. Maybe enough that had it been initially called incomplete, a review would not have overturned that call.
