Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama vs. UGA...

I hope we dont play OM in a possible CFP road game. I think Chambliss would be a nightmare for our defense in conjunction with the capabilities of our offense currently. And I can't bear losing to OM with CPG as coach... Talk about flames.

I think all of our problems with the offense start with the O-line. No running game threat. Constant pressure on the QB. We have completed few long downfield passes. Defenses aren't afraid of getting burned on long throws. Ty has little time to go through progressions and has a bad case of happy feet. Every defense has the playbook to stop our offense, I can't see where our O-line has improved in any area this year. Then we can talk about RB's not hitting the holes and WR's poor routes and drops. And we still made the SECCG...and laid an egg.

Our OL is THE REASON our offense has regressed. Can anyone really say our rb's are bad when the OL is as bad as they are? They're horrible, down right horrible.

I hate to say it, but we need to get rid of the SECG. Someone said that there wouldn’t be another SEC team in the CFP, you mean OK and Ole Miss aren’t getting in this season. I want to be wrong about it b ut Bama is further injured now when it comes to making it in. How? The game it’s self puts us in doubt and Ty and whoever else is more banged up. We had more injuries than was led on to be and it showed today greatly.

I hope we’re in though.

If we are not going to do divisions, especially with the SEC going to 9 conference games, it needs to go away. It won’t because of the money it makes, but it is huge liability now.

I see we’ve got a lot of new chicken little posters on the board. Apparently every coach needs to be fired, every starter benched and run out of town, and then every backup on the 2 deep will be amazingly better.

Get a grip people. Sometimes games don’t go your way. This was always a 3-4yr rebuild with new coaches with different philosophies and coaching styles. Does it suck to lose? Yeah. But let’s take a chill pill and maybe step back and get a little perspective. We are likely still in the playoff beginning tomorrow, we will heal up some, get some key players back and others up to speed, and have time to take a breath and scout ourselves.

If Duke wins, and they are up 17-10 in the fourth quarter, that knocks the ACC out of the playoff. Does that help or hurt us? Or will they just stick Miami in for sure in that case?
well....it SHOULD knock the ACC out...putting in Miami as an at large over their own championship teams sends a bad message too....but leaving our a P4 conference completely....will be tough

I'm not happy with how Alabama played, but I still hope they make it into the playoff.

Apart from the interception and punt block, both of which lead to points, this was actually a competitive game. It didn't feel that way, but it wasn't like Georgia's offense dominated. They were given a short field multiple times, they took advantage. That was the difference.

So if this team, despite how it played, despite the gifting of points to Georgia, makes it into the playoff they can still win some games.

Having said that, there are obvious issues that need to be addressed. Let's hope more is done this off-season to address them than was done last off-season.

It sucks to have had to play the game. We already beat them. Now we are limping to the finish line and have to rematch them. We could have been sitting at home healing up while Ole Miss or Texas A&M played this game, and be a lock for the playoff.

It is what it is. But the current setup in CFP makes this a no win situation.

DeBoer gave them all the ammunition they needed when he went for it from the 10.
What was that? 8:43 to go in the game, down by 14, and you don’t punt? Punt there, get a stop and get the ball back with maybe 5:30- 6:00 minutes to go . At least that gives your team a chance. That I do have a problem with. Especially considering we were at least moving the ball a little when we went to a strictly passing attack to play catch up.
BTW, a pure passing attack was what won the first meeting. We have no backs, no run game all year , why try to force a running attack. Be who you are.
