I'm really worried about this game. It's valid to wonder if Fournette can be stopped. If there's anything hopeful to take away, it's that Chubb actually had a higher average and Alabama kept him in check really. But, that 7.3 average he ended up with just because of one big run is concerning. If Fournette averages 7 or more yards per carry against Alabama things could go a lot worse.

It isn't the huge runs that I think are likely to do Alabama in, it would be how many 5-10 yard runs that Fournette can string together. Against a common opponent, South Carolina (neither have played very tough schedules), Fournette was 158/7.9/1 and Chubb was 159/7.6/2.

We've seen Georgia without Chubb, they're a mess and by the same token if Fournette is held in check I think LSU would have issues. Last year Alabama held him to 3.8, they do that again and I think Alabama wins. Then again, last year three other team held him below that as well. This year no one has held him under 5. We shall see.

My worry goes deeper than this. When LF goes out for a breather, the who has 2 very good backs that can let him rest without letting up on our defense. Guice(9.3 ypc) and Williams(5.3 ypc) are both good running backs who can keep a drive going. When Henry comes out, Drake has been so ineffective that it's almost a wasted drive. If Bo or Harris don't get some meaningful carries, Fournete will be fresher than Henry towards the end of the game.

It is my understanding that all Fournette's accolade's are against only one top 50 defense and that being Miss St.. Correct me if I am wrong. But that helps ease my mind.

My favorite game of the year. The law of averages says we're due to lose one of these, but who cares about being average?

Love this rivalry so much! Coach Saban and Les have really taken to the game also and helps make it even more special. I'll be waking up fired up ready to take the kid for donuts in the morning getting ready for this one. I like Bama's chances! Roll Tide!!

Let's Roll Boys!!! I think all the hype has everyone thinking L Fournette is larger than life itself. I'm fully aware that he's an outstanding back, but we have an outstanding DL. He's gonna gain some yards, that's a given with almost all great RB's......but if we can hold him to around 100 Yds or less.....and refrain from turning it over......The odds are greatly in our favor!......My concern is our tendency to play a little flat at home.....hopefully all teammates are dialed in and on the same page (as they should be).......My greatest concern is with special teams and hoping we can be....effective on returns....contain their returns....and that AG is money on field goals if called on!!!!
RTR!!!!! Let's get it on!!!!!

I have lots of faith in our defense. They'll keep the game competitive regardless.

However, the best case scenario is that our offense comes together for its best showing of the year. If JC hits a few passes down the field early on, we could get out ahead and have a lot of success.

I'm thinking a possible scenario of close to kicking butt. I saw a Vegas bookmaker on Schein Report on CBSSports and he said Bama should be a double digit favorite and a big double digit favorite -of 17. Seemed very credible and I know Schein is.

Double digits? Wow.

They do get Mills and that other guy back this week. I don't think it makes a difference. Bama still wins.

I just feel its going to be a 14 to 10 game. Bama wins, two very aggressive defenses. Has the LSU QB played in a hostile environment yet. Jake seems to have his feet under him. If we dont turn the ball over more that 2 times we should win. Now it could be a 44 to 33 game but I just dont see it. One of the reasons I dont bet on football. I get better odds playing craps.

Here are LSU qb results on away games:
completion attempts yards % avg long TD

This will be their biggest test away from red stick. If out defense can play like they did against GA. Who knows.

They have played 2 road games Miss State and Syracuse.

It's 3:50am here is eastern time and the grill is warming to put some pork on for a 12 hour cook. It must be my Crimson glasses but I'm expecting a 15 point win with somewhere around 35 or so points for Bama.CNS has shown himself to be the best in planning for big games and this one in particular at least in most cases. It's really difficult to hold a runner like Fournette, but hopefully we hold him below 100 yards, we do that and our offense comes out warm or hot and I believe we win convincingly. My main worry would be a flat offensive effort or turnovers.

Well, I've been up since 0300 with my nine month old boy. Oh well, it's an early start to another special day of college football! Have a great time, friends. Roll Tide!

Well, it is finally game day again for Alabama and OSU fans. Have fun out there today, folks. Ride the wave.

Roll Tide!
Go Bucks!
