Ole Miss Ranking Thoughts

They have struggled coming out of the starting gate in their games against Memphis and SE La. I don`t think their ranking will hold up doing that in the SEC part of their schedule. Snead has looked terrible in the first half of both of those games but settled down and looked pretty good in the second halves.

Snead is the real deal. If he is given time, the guy can find a target. Not so sure they are as balanced a team as they need to be to run through the SEC unscathed. But, as long as Snead is in the game, they are a serious threat to beat anybody.

They have one 8 straight going back to last year. If they are not deserving of that ranking, they will soon be fouud out.
You got it right there + a pretty good bowl showing. They won't get demoted until they get beaten. All the voters also know there's a showdown coming with us, when the legitimacy of the rankings will be tested...

Another reason their stock is so high is they are the only SEC to beat Florida.

Why not? Last year they beat Florida and Texas Tech and have a team returning fourteen senior starters and a QB that could be a 1st round draft pick. If Nutt ever had a shot this is it.

OM plays at SC this week. SC isn't a world-beater, but they should give a good accounting of themselves at home. If OM gets past SC, they then travel to Vandy, then home against us. Because of SOS calculations I hope they'll remain undefeated until we play them.

At South Carolina on a Thursday night. I like the Gamecocks in this one.

I actually think they are deserving of it, at this moment in time. IF they had 1-2 more minutes to play in last yr's game in BDS, there is a very good chance that they would have beaten us. Of course, that's a big 'if'....

From what I've seen thus far it looks like The Top Three and the 160 Dwarfs.

You've Florida, UTexas, and Bama, and then there's a huge drop off in my opinion. And I actually wasn't overly impressed with Texas.

The team that remains a mystery is LSU. Suddenly their struggle against Washington doesn't look so bad. But their struggle last night does.
They're kind of an enigma at this point.

As far as Ole Miss I don't think they'll beat South Carolina and I think they'll struggle against Vandy simply because they're playing us the next week.

But we better not take Arkansas or Kentucky for granted either. Those are scary games.
