I know that we get carried away whenever Auburn is involved, but there was no excuse for some of the insinuations made in the last thread. We want free discussion but we need to remain sensitive to feelings - particularly when we have family members looking in. There is more reason to be optimistic right now than any time since Wednesday. Let's keep that in mind as we post, OK?
This has been one strange trip. Mods have their hands full with all of the recruiting threads and the different turns that they take. Tidefans has done a good job of keeping these from getting out-of-control.

Interesting for all you don't Facebook stalk folks...

Oh thanks!!!!

How did I forget Aaron Douglas? ...he could end up being the best of all the Bama O-Linemen this year....Freshman All-American at Tennessee.

We may have to play with three OT's on every play and just run Trent, Lacy, and Hart behind them!

No wonder Cyrus was hesitant to go to Bama, looks like he might have to beat out his brother for that last starting spot. I bet Saban gave Cyrus some sort of commitment that he would give Cyrus every chance to start...not he would start, but that he would get the push he wants. And what about Tyler Love? He was #1 OT in scouting service a couple of years ago out of high school. Has TL tapped out?....or can he improve?

Man, what an improvement we are going to see on the O-Line and D-Line this year....the LB's are stacked, can you imagine DePreist and Mosely, flying around back there, with Hightower back at full speed finally out of the brace in the bowl game against MSU, it's gonna be amazing, and round that off with Upshaw, whewwww!!! Now the secondary has experience and mucho depth, our safeties will be sick with Barron and Lester coming back....throw in Clinton-Dix and now an experienced Williams and Perry...mannnn!!!!

All we need is a good performance out of the QB position. AJ scares me......he's either a spectacular play or horrible play.....hope he cleans it up, cause that will not jive well in the SEC. Maybe the #1 QB recruit last year will step up.....but I bet AJ starts the first game.

Welcome aboard, Cyrus! As you can see we are all ecstatic. You will NOT regret this decision, young man. As others have said, there is no better place or environment in which to play college football than Tuscaloosa, and right now no better coach to play for than Nick Saban. It's just as simple as that. Our program is only going to get better in the years to come, while there is a lot of, shall we nicely say, "uncertainty" right now about the future of that school/football program down the road in Lee county. History will ultimately show that you made a very wise choice! Roll Tide Roll and get ready to enjoy the next 3-4 yrs!!

CNS finally got the LT that he wanted. I'm so excited to get Cyrus and I appreciate the way the Kouandijo family handled the situation. He should contribute early on in his career unless he redshirts.

Cyrus Kouandjio signs to play football for Alabama | TideSports.com
“He said he wanted to respect his friends … and fans,” Jean Claude Kouandjio, the player's father, told Tidesports.com. "He wanted to respect the advice of his friends, people who admire him. That's what he wanted to do."

The response is already pouring in via Cyrus Kouandjio's phone.

"The text messages he received from his friends, people who admire him, it's overwhelming," the father said. "They want him to go (to) Alabama. He wants to respect those people.”

Unlike Wednesday, when Cyrus Kouandjio announced plans to sign with Auburn and then had second thoughts, this time it's over.

"It's final. He's signed and faxed," Jean Claude Kouandjio said. "I just want you to know … it's a done deal. He told me he decided. He signed and faxed it, to stop all the pressure and all.

CK obviously struggled with his decision from announcing on Wednesday to the Barn but not sending in his LOI. He is obviously an intelligent young man who was not sure he had made the right decision at that time. He has taken time to be with his family to help him make the hardest choice of his life. I hope he feels comfortable with his choice. I know I am looking forward to see he and Arie in the Oline soon. Welcome to the Capstone.

Cyrus! Welcome to the greatest place to play football on this planet: The University of Alabama Crimson Tide in Bryant-Denny Stadium!

Just soak in all the love that will be shown by 102,000+ fans at each home game who love Crimson Tide football.

Now, get to work in the weight room and plan to be a success in the classroom. Try to get that degree in three years unless you plan to play four years at Bama. We're hoping for four, but if we get three we will be very, very, very happy.

This is the best news that I've heard today.

P. S. Be prepared to tune out the Tiger noise in Jordan-Hare next year.

Roll Tide Roll!

Cyrus,

One request: please call that DE in South Carolina (you know who I'm talking about) and help get him to Roll with the Tide also. Some say it's too late, but it's never too late!

Help give us a very good Valentine's Day present. You and that DE know that everything on Valentine's Day is in Crimson. You know like boxes of candy, Roses, etc.

Thanks Big Guy!
