Our Lineup

sounds like the depth at pg may have been addressed. glad to know that we may not have to worry so much about the offense slowing so much when releford sits.

I'm just hoping we've added enough pieces so that Ben's lack of offense won't be as obvious next year.

i agree. as long as there's not a void, i'm good with it. i'm not as fluent with bball as i would like, so i always revert to my fball knowledge. when the qb sits, you can't just replace him with a linebacker. still trying to wrap my head around the fluid nature of bball substitutions. glad to know pieces are falling into place!

Eblen could actually see his time rise this year. He was an enormous liability last year because when he was out there it 4 on 5 at the offensive side of the court. IF, and it is a big if, these new guys can provide solid offensive production then Releford won't have to be as much of a scoring option and Eblen can give him longer breaks, and keep him fresher.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Bama use a smaller lineup at times. As much zone as Grant has been willing to use, they could go with a lineup like: Releford, Lacey, Randolph or Cooper, Mitchell, and Green.

Randolph and Cooper bring length that can be effective in a zone where they would otherwise be a mismatch in man-to-man vs. bigger interior guys.

I think Eblen will look a lot better out there this year, because we're going to be able to use him as he should be used - situationally as a defensive sub. Last year, we needed him to perform all the duties of a standard backup PG, and his game really isn't suited towards that. We need him as a guy who can harass our opponent's best perimeter offensive player while we give Releford a rest when we have a lead.

I think we're going to have a really solid team this upcoming season. I'm excited to see them hit the floor.
