The real question is whether Irons could even read Oakley's last name on the back.
Its hard to tell but his armband has this on it.

judgin by the fact that Oakleys right hand was closed i think the ball was knocked away. Even with Auburn theres no way an official misses that call.
Does it matter that Irons isn't even looking toward the ball? Knocked away or not, isn't there a caveat that says you have to be making a play at the ball, not just watching the player and guessing then the ball was to arrive?
I suppose you missed the Barn/LSwho and Barn/FU games last year?
The ball was tipped before it got there and the hit was almost at the same time as the ball arriving. If the ball had not been tipped it would have been pi however it was still VERY close but it was tipped and thats why it went that way.
I assume you are talking about the call at the end of the LSU/AU game last year. If so, watch the replay at http://youtube.com/watch?v=XAHL8rCd1RU. The contact was before the ball was tipped.

If you want to see David Irons at his best mugging, watch http://youtube.com/watch?v=cPhQGRUQLTs
These were just two of the terrible calls that went in AU's favor against LSU last year.
