Bama: 31
Arky: 10

I don't think they move the ball well with our defense, especially in the red zone.

I also don't think their defense contains the offense well enough to keep up from the end zone a number of times.

I think Arkansas can score points against Bama. Your guys have a tremendous defense for sure but Arkansas has been very vanilla so far......only showing maybe 40% of their offense. A Petrino offense will score points. I think that is just a given especially with 4 Balitnekoff (sp?) finalists on the same receiving corps.

On the other side of the ball we have been totally in a base defense. We should see the Hogs bring more pressure than they did against the rent a wins.

Should be a good one.

Here is to a great game and no injuries.

Go Hogs!

Like I said earlier, CBP teams have not scored more than 20 points against CNS. This year's defense is one his best. Not sure how Arky scores 27 offensive points on Saturday.

Agreed. Not saying the hogs can't win, cos they could. They've got the talent. But if they do, it wont be because they scored 27 points. The Arkansas offense over the last 2 seasons (With Ryan Mallett at the helm) only managed to score 27 points combined. Yet somehow, they lose Knile Davis and replace Mallett with Tyler Wilson, and they're supposed to drop 27 in this one game?

Nah...

Again, Arkansas could win, but if they do, it wont be because they score 27, it'll be because they shut our offense down.

I think Saban/Defense and Petrino/Offense is what makes this game interesting every year.....not only to the fans of both fine institutions but to the college football world. Both are considered the absolute best at their respective specialties. It should be an interesting chess match for sure.

I agree the advantage should go to the Tide based on past history. Arkansas is loaded with Jr's and Sr's at all of the offensive skill positions this year so my thought is that we may have a slight advantage.

Don't blame me for looking through my Hog colored glasses!

Wasn't the same said last season when Arkansas had a veteran, can't-miss, Heisman candidate at QB playing at home against a very green Bama defense? They got 97 yards and 3 points in the second half with the game on the line. This year the Hogs have a first-year starter on the road against basically that same defense -- all grown up.

IF Wilson can set his feet and get time to throw, the Hogs may score some points; but it's hard to imagine them scoring too many points on this defense in Bryant-Denny Stadium. I think the Arkansas defense holds the key to this game for the Hogs. If they can't keep the Tide offense off the field (read: 3 and outs), the Tide will pull away by the fourth quarter. JMO.

I don't blame you for looking through your glasses. I'm still looking through the remaining Bar BQ sauce on my face from the last 4 years of beating Arkansas, so that's where my opinion is.

Close until near the end, but Arky's defense doesn't really look improved at all while Alabama's D is a lot better than last year's.

I don't think CNS will let this team look forward to the lizards...this game is just as important, if not more so, for this team to make its statement about who they are.
Hogs have great receivers, but I think Bama's D gets to Wilson. If hogs run for more than 100 yards, they will win.

Arkansas can't run the ball and we can.
Arkansas will stack the box and AJ will have an opportunity to burn them.

Arkansas has a great passing game, BUT... They haven played our Defense yet.

Arkansas should get 14 points because of Petrino's coaching.

QUESTION: Has Arkansas played anyone that features a strong ground game?
HINT: Arkansas can't score while sitting on 'The Pines'...
(We keep their Offense off the field and we win)

Welcome to all the Hog fans...homerism included, its all good.

I think it will be a close game and good test for Bama, plus Arky always gives us fits. Love our defense which I think will continue to be stingy, but we need some good oline protection up front this week as Arky's Dline will be trying to shut down the run and force AJ to make plays. I believe their run defense is pretty good. Our kicking game hasn't been spectacular although adequate so far, hoping for Maze to be a big part of getting us in excellent field position, but I'm thinking there's a chance we miss a fg or something, so instead of 27-17...

Nothing wrong with being a homer, but I would just point out, the offense for Alabama so far this year has been the most vanilla I have ever seen. Now, while that may be because of the young QB, even the running plays have been completely basic. The defense hasn't gotten very far past vanilla either yet we've basically stonewalled each opponent (something last year's D didn't do against anyone, despite the good stats).

This will definitely be a great game. I'm thankful it's in Tuscaloosa.

Bama wins a tight one. If Kniles Davis were playing, might be a different story. I know the other running backs have done well (Wingo especially), but I still think Davis was better and that is why he was the projected starter until his unfortunate injury. The Bama defensive backs versus Arkansas receivers should be a great match-up for sure.
