Tend to agree with you on the bad message/CFP junk part. They went from 96% in to now 47% in ... pretty much saying everything they did up to this point is now moot. Its not really adding up after playing in a championship game ... especially against a team they beat during the season.
That's exactly why you cant just say "oh Bama got blew out by Georgia, so they're out". So you're telling me (not you personally, but just a general you) that if DeBoer just threw in the towel and didn't even try to win the game, we'd be in a lot more safely? That's crazy to me, because if a coach did that, he would lose his team. To hear all of the haters talk, you would think we lost by 50. I wouldn't think a 21 point loss would be enough to leave us out. When we said a blowout might keep us out, I was thinking 5 or 6 touchdowns. That's a blowout. For as bad as it looked, we still had an outside shot at winning. That's why we went for it, and that's why they got an extra touchdown.
And the same ones calling for Bama to be punished for it are the same ones adamant you could not leave SMU out last year, because it would devalue making it to the conference championship game.
There isn’t a team in the playoffs without flaws. 95% of them did not play a schedule like we played. If you leave us out for losing the conference championship then the SEC is dumb to continue to play it. What is the point going forward other than money.
I think we will end up in Tampa against Iowa and they'll put Texas against Michigan in the Citrus.
