Potential final ranking prognostication

Going to a 9 game schedule next year already this is a really bad idea unless the other conferences are forced to do the same AND Notre Dumb is forced to join a real conference. Neither of those is going to happen.

Bottom line - the way to fix this is not allow the committee to rank a team lower than a team that it was already ahead of that didn’t play in a championship game. IOW - you can’t get jumped by a team sitting idle because you lost in your conference championship game
The big 12 and big 10 already play a 9 game schedule, however, the big 10 seems to protect the upper tier teams in the conference by having them play the mediocre to bad teams and one or two teams that are equal.

Most seem to think we'll draw A&M which I dread. I don't like playing them right after they're coming off their only loss of the season and I think Marcel Reed's legs are going to cause us a lot of problems on defense. I'd much rather play OU again.

Say Duke wins...8-5 not in...neither is UVA...so the ACCs best hope is Miami...but they didn't even get to the ACC champ but get in to the CFP??? explain that committee...lol....the ACC should get ZERO in if Duke wins the game
It happened for us in 2017.

I don't usually take Vegas seriously but the odds have started to move against us. The last few years about an hour beforehand the odds have moved in the correct direction. Leaks?

I think we might be out and Miami in

We have been a steady-350 ever since we lost. Which is essentially still considered a lock. I think everyone is still mad that Bret Mcmurphy caught wind of the major leak about SMU vs Alabama last year and spoiled it 3 hours before the reveal. Essentially costing Vegas and ESPN a lot of money

Moved to -290 a few minutes ago. Maybe it's off 🤷‍♂️

They also have us vs A&M listed though which would imply we're in idk

I was looking at resumes earlier and they have a case.

Two close losses by less than 10 points combined to two 8-4 teams.

Top 40 SOS and beat FSU who beat us by 2 TD’s

Beat ND and ND is considered as a lock.

The committee could do it and not have to explain a single thing.

Yeah. The thing is our sos is 6th I think. We've clearly played a significantly harder schedule.

But honestly we got blown out twice 🤷‍♂️

We've got too many injuries with too little time to get healthy and truly be competitive. Add that to our OL issues and I just dont see us as deserving to be in tbe playoffs. We've gotten worse in the second half of the season and ended with getting beat down by UGA and looking noncompetitive. We did ourselves no favors the second half of the season. We plummeted.

This is actually the real issue, IMHO. Why do Tulane and JMU "have" to be included?

Keep them out and you have all 3 of ND, Bama, and Miami in.

Also, IMHO, I would put Duke in instead of James Madison.

No G5 team should have a guaranteed spot.

They should be either undefeated or maybe 12-1 at worst with that only loss being close to a highly ranked P4 team that demonstrates they can compete.

2 G5 teams being in the mix is just obsurd.

Maybe the 12th Seed should be a play-in spot between the two best bubble teams… I don’t know.

JMU and Tulane or Duke would all get just hammered by a Top 8 P4 team.
