Question: Potential Staff Replacements

I don't think this will happen. If it does, Coach Boom will be working with a much longer fuse -- courtesy of his new boss.
I'm sure he'll have his pick of jobs (DC at least), if he chooses, but I also think his reputation isn't what it once was as his Auburn defense has seemingly underperformed.

I'm not as concerned with the concept of replacing Staff prior to 2016 as I am with the possibility of them leaving right after the SECCG, but before the Playoffs...one or two might be recoverable, but a mass exodus on the scale that is being talked about could have a serious impact on Playoff game prep...

Just got to hope they are all professional and give it 100% this week. I guess if the D comes out and looks like the Barns D, we'll know Kirby had checked out AND Saban will have an epic rant.

Saban has always been able to get great staff and he will this time as well. Pruitt would be the most plug and play option. Knows the recruits, the territory, and the system. Tucker also has a resume for the DC job. Not sure if he can recruit. IF Kiffin leaves I expect Saban will go with a relative unknown younger coach like he has in the past. It will all work itself out but I'm concerned how this effects any playoff run. I'm also not happy Georgia let this out before the SECCG.

Ok, I know this sounds crazy for OC but hear me out ---- Mark Richt.

He says he want's to get back to Xs and Os and calling plays. His philosophy would fit our style. He is great with QBs. He is a great recruiter. And his heart doesn't really seem to be in running a program.

What about Ben Pollard to replace Scott Cochran, assuming Cochran goes to UGa with Smart? At one point I believe he still had his home in Tuscaloosa and perhaps still does today.

The way Muschamp handled himself during the IB wasn't pretty, but the thing is, he does care about his players and he love football. Players respect him. So I don't think he'll have issue getting a job... He will make a good coach, just gotta improve in some area. I think he's a better coach because of his time at UF and seeing a mess at Auburn.. he'll be fine if he goes to Georgia or USC. I really dont care what he does.. its his business.

I don't know, something has always struck me as odd. Why would Mel Tucker, with head coaching and defensive coordinator experience in the NFL, take a DB position at Bama? Something else in mind for later on down the road? Its something to ponder on. I think we will be fine whichever way Saban chooses to go.

I agree. He's good at this... so the only way I can see this working is because Mel is looking to get back into NFL.. and he came to alabama as a " break" I think we'll be fine... I like the idea of changing things up.. might make it harder to beat us next year.

Agreed. Remember WHO is in charge. I expect the coaching resumes COACH SABAN has at his fingertips would fill at large vault.

Coach Pollard was one heck of a S&C guy and I think was done wrong by us. He stayed when prhanphoney went to aTm and kept things together during all of the mess and Shula replaced him with somebody. Think he would do great.

I've thought of this as well. He would be a good addition, but I don't know about the professional relationships involved. I am sure that Saban has thought this through as well, and I trust his decisions.

If Smart leaves before all our games are played, it isn't likely we will add a coach actually working with the team. That person wouldn't be familiar enough with the players, would further mess with chemistry developed during the season, etc.

Don't see it happening.

Tucker starting coaching as a Grad Assistant for Saban in 1997 at Michigan State. It's obvious they go way back and he is here for a reason.

Do y'all think Sal Sunseri would get a call about coming back to Bama if Mel Tucker is promoted as our DC..I always enjoyed Sal cause he's a helluva good LB'ers coach & he tore it up of the recruiting trail for us as well..
