President-elect Trump's appointments part II

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Sad, but expected, that there are only 3 Republican senators who will stand up to trump and do what's right. So much for checks and balances, advice and consent.

Being the cynic I am I wonder if Mitch truly felt that way or if he knew there weren’t enough votes to reject the nomination and he just did it to give Trump the middle finger without accomplishing anything.

Not sure giving Trump the middle finger without accomplishing anything is wise. Trump has the thinnest skin of any politician I have read about.
He probably genuinely felt he was not the right guy.
My concern is the "China just invaded Taiwan," briefing in the tank and whether he can be the architect of victory. Let's hope he never gets presented that situation.
I am certain numerous Senior Executive Service and senior GS civilians are pondering how they are going to thwart Hegseth.

He feels that way and trump cant primary him since he will leave when his term is up. The middle finger is an added bonus.

Murkowski probably didn't think Hegseth was qualified. Collins probably voted no because she knew he would pass anyway. God only knows what was going on in McConnell's head.

Like Biden, the question is never what is in Glitch McConnell’s head, but who put it there. I would dearly love to know who owns him.

A billionaire investor in charge of the treasury could be good or bad. Guess we'll find out.
I'll withhold judgement as well and express cautious optimism that he will push policies that help the middle class (and not in a "trickle-down" way).

He’s also gay and once worked for George Soros. I guess the MAGA crowd will overlook that since he was appointed by Trump.

Due to profanity, I can't share the tweet, but on X someone suggested tapping David Lee Roth as the ambassador to Panama. The song was snappy enough; let's do this!

DISGUSTING! In one of the most egregious slanders levied yet on a Trump cabinet nominee, Democrat Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii claims that RFK, Jr. wants to conduct the Tuskegee experiments on all Americans and millions will die if he is confirmed.

Stupid crap like this is why I want Kennedy to get this gig. If they have to create performative lies like this to bolster their argument, it just reinforces the idea that these people are just bad faith actors. This is laugh-out-loud ridiculous.

Supporting Kennedy just because a democrat is acting in bad faith is silly. Either you think he's qualified or you don't. Which is it?

He killed .0367% of Somoa in just a few months of being involved in their vaccine programs (83/225,631 population) if he "only" was an advisor to us that translates to 123,168 Americans dead. This is a FAR larger role that he is being given.... so yeah Millions isn't far off
