I was watching a replay of one of the games the other day and I'm pretty sure I heard them say that Prince committed to Bama sight unseen, without ever taking a visit to Tuscaloosa. His first time on campus was when he reported with the other freshman. It is pretty well known that he was pretty homesick there for a while so that would kind of make sense. Is that true and if so, how did his recruitment/commitment come about? I know he supposedly did not have a lot of offers but I think he did have one from USC. I know someone has the lowdown, enquiring minds want to know.

From Bamamag.com, USC didn't offer him, but OU did though. Along with some other west schools.

I remember the commentator saying that, but it's not true. In 2004, I was down on the field around the recruits during pregame (I believe the Auburn game) and remember walking by Jimmy Barnes and Prince Hall hanging out. Prince stood there watching Brandon Brooks muff punts in warm-ups while Jimmy was walking the sidelines talking on his cell phone. I'm not positive it was the Auburn game, but I know it was Prince Hall (name tag, people saying his name, etc.).

I read something somewhere that one of the coaches (I think it was Joe Kines) said at one point he was one biscuit away from a 3-point stance! :biggrin2:

I think I remember Verne and Danielson talking about that during the Ole Miss game. That's where I heard it.

Lol... now, if they could just get the rest of their game correct, their broadcasts would be so much better. I used to think Musberger was bad... after a few years with VL and now Danielson I'm not sure that I wouldn't switch to games simply called by BM... no color guy at all. If you can't tell, I HATE our SEC crew calling the games.

Yeah, I don't like the broadcast team for CBS either, in fact I don't like their entire crew from the studio to the booth. I did kind of like Blackledge however, but now that he's gone it's a crapshoot. But hey, at least we haven't been on Lincoln Financial yet!!! *crosses fingers and toes and says a little prayer* :biggrin2:

Thanks for the info. It seemed a little weird to me.

Actually Ole Verne and Todd Blackledge made a real good team. You would think with Ron Franklin not being the main man anymore, maybe CBS could get him and Blackledge to come back and do SEC games. Most, if not all of those guys are like free agents.

Hall also had a big offer from Oklahoma .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:
