Question about Campus Police

I believe police have cracked down ever since that Sigma Nu fraternity member was stabbed in the head by some guys who were not students, crashed one of their parties late after one of the earlier games. I for one enjoy a few adult beverages before the game and see nothing wrong with this. But I don't carry anything into the stadium and I don't linger and drink after the game.

When Tag and I were behind the tooth, and spoke with the two officers that asked us to pour out our beverages, we understood. Also, we were speaking with a guy who's father (supposedly) is on the city council, and they have enacted a new one that has to do with loiterers on the strip. Basically from what I could understand, if you aren't patroning an establishment on the strip, or are there after the bars close, you could be ticketed and/or arrested. This in an effort to curtail some of the activities that seem to arise from 12:00 a.m. and on...If this doesn't work to slow it, they are kicking around the idea of a curfew on the strip.

Take it for what it's worth, but I'm definately going to be using a cup from now on.

Im most municipalities in the State of Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia, it is a crime to have an open beverage container in a vehicle. Hence,

Open container laws prohibit the possession of any open alcoholic beverage container and the consumption of any alcoholic beverage in the passenger area of a motor vehicle.

I understand that there are "cool" cops and not so "cool" cops, but the laws are pretty straight forward. Pouring your beer into a Ruby Tuesday's cup does not change anything. So... hide your drinks, get past the police then chug. But do not drive.
