First post here and I am sorry if this has been discussed. I live in mississippi and was hoping to get the game on FSS, however my comcast company has told me that there is a blackout for Mississippi. I then asked them about gameplan and they said that it was blacked out for gameplan as well. My question is if you dont live in Alabama or Tennessee can you get the game on tv in any fashion today?

I don't understand all of that. Why is there a black out in MS? I can understand in the NFL they have the "sell out" rule. But what's up in college ball sometimes?

That is what I was told by comcast cable. I don't know the ins and outs of college football coverage or pro for that matter. I just love to watch the tide play on tv.

Bama Game (A question about TV coverage - Staff)

Did the BAMA game get picked up by Major network?
If not, can you still get it on 730 HUMP?

Re: Bama Game

A simple scan of the first page reveals two threads on this subject. A simple search reveals at least 4 threads.

To answer the question, it was picked up by Fox Sports South. If you don't have that, then it's ESPN Gameplan or radio.

As an aside to the board, perhaps we could reply to applicable posts with "UTFS!", which means "Use The Friendly Search" feature. It works great. Oh, and some might say the F stands for a certain word of Dutch origin, but in reality, it's just the friendly members of the board reminding you to Use The Friendly Search feature! :)

Re: Bama Game

It's really not a Dutch word, it's an ancient Teutonic word. In German (Deutsch) it's "ficken." BTW, as an Admin, I'm all in favor of "search." If more used it, it would make our berth in life softer...

The Gameplan now shows the entire Southeast as blacked out.

I think that the poster was concerned because gameplan changed the blackout as of about 12 hrs ago so the other threads would have been misleading!

It's really not hard. Gameplan always blacks out every game in every market that it's available on any other tv channel. So if Gameplan is blacked out for you, you're supposed to be able to get it from another channel, whether network/PPV/whatever.

In this case, GP is blacked out for the entire south because FSS covers the entire south. If you're in MS and not getting FSS, you've got other problems. FWIW, I've never known any Fox sports regional networks to black out any games in part of their regions. A quick look at their current FSS schedule shows no blackout map for the Alabama-Vandy game.

The Dutch word part isn't original from me, I stole it from LFS... I did think it was a german word, but that's an interesting etymology.

What you are saying is very logical and I hope that you are correct. Also, unlike you, I have known FSS to blackout games. FSU(my second favorite team) comes to mind last year. Also I have witnessed them black out several hockey games here in Alabama. Why, I don't know.

Re: Is the Vandy game on PPV?

Search, please...

There should be a guideline that no one is allowed to respond to a tv question unless the poster shows that they have tried searching already. Nothing's going to change as long as people still answer their questions every time anyway.
