Quick officiating question from last night...

I think it was a non-sec crew. They certainly didn't look familiar and I think it was a stipulation in the home and home agreement. Same with their game at Penn State a couple years ago.

It was an sec crew that did the game at Cal last year.😎
OK. Must have seen Smith in another game...Arky-OkSt, perhaps

Aaron Murray pointed out that the So. Fla. DB had a piece of Ryan Williams' jersey twice on long pass plays where clearly it was PI and not called.

It's USF's 3rd possession in the first quarter (at 5:08 left in the first quarter.)

And it's not really "illegal substitutions", rather than a substitution was made, but no hold on play was granted by the crew to allow Alabama to substitute.
Okay, but I would call that illegal. It is the officals job to catch it and stop play.

I think it's something that the opposing HC should be allowed to throw the challenge flap on. If he doesn't like the outcome of the next play, throw the flag and make them replay the down.

Shouldn't be difficult. Look at who the player are on the field for the first play, look at who's on the field for the next. If they don't match, and the refs don't stop play to allow the defense to substitute, the play doesn't count
