I didn't see many folks leaving...Anyway you have to be encouraged because UK shot its best for the year and they have 22 wins. We did not play our best game by a long shot and we were still in it till the very end. Our best will beat their best. Let's just hope that occurs in a couple of weeks.

I was at the game and the atmosphere reminded me of how it was back in the 80's. Big crowds flocking outside CC. Lots of people looking for tickets. It was great. I was disappointed just like everyone else.

We certainly had our chances to win the game. ES and RS missed wide open 3's in the first half that would have put us up by 20 at halftime. I think UK's strategy in the 2nd half was to push and hold and make the refs make calls. The refs let Azubuike hold KW all game long; no calls. They let Morris and Orbzut push CD and JD; no calls. When they doubled on CD, he would kick it out to ES or RS and they just didn't make their shots. USC did the same last Sat., but ES and KW made them pay for doubling CD.

We just don't have the inside muscle to compete against tough teams. We'll have that when Hendrix comes in next year. I think we also miss Pettway's leadership. A senior needs to step up and make shots, especially wide open ones. We are 21-6. I've heard analysts make the argument that we win or lose based on how ES plays. I think that's true. In our 6 losses, he's struggled shooting the basketball. In our 21 wins, he's shot the ball well. Last week, ES didn't shoot well and we lost both games. I look for ES to have a big week vs. AU and M$U.

My point is that we are fatigued right now, before we ever get into a game. Certainly, there is "game fatigue" and we are showing it. However, there is also "fatigue from a season's work" and I believe it is hitting us. Seeing the wide open looks miss regularly and the inside players unwilling to mix it up is one of the signs of "season fatigue." Thus, my statement referring to a not so enjoyable exit from either/both tourneys.
