I think this is a new statement by Crowell, but I don't have all the subscriptions you guys do. But sounds super promising.

The five-star running back from Carver-Columbus confirmed Tuesday that Alabama is now in the lead for his services.

Crowell also confirmed that it’s down to Alabama and Georgia for him. For the longest time many have felt the Bulldogs had the edge because they could offer more playing time earlier.

But the Bulldogs’ 1-4 start compared to Alabama’s current status as defending national champions and the country’s No. 1-ranked team is too stark a contrast to ignore.

“Well, they’re losing a lot of games and have a lot of people getting arrested,” Crowell said of Georgia. “There’s just a lot of things going wrong. I do want to play right away but I also want to be where it’s disciplined and they win championships.”

OUCH. Point, Bama.

By Dee Hart announcing his decision this Friday (prob to Mich), IC should know we are really wanting him. If Dee Hart happens to choose UA, then that pushes IC more toward UGA. IMO

I think its pretty clear that we want two rb's in this class. Crowell and Hart are also different style backs, not to mention that Dee can play a number of positions. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. We may very well get both, we may even add Allen for good measure. I just don't see our staff turning any of them down. As for the numbers, Saban has ways of making that work, he always has.

Agree with what Chop is saying here. It's not a certainty that Hart would even play RB if he came to Alabama, and regardless it sure looks as if we're going to take at least 2 RBs anyway, so I don't really see it as much of a problem. If Hart chooses Michigan you can almost bet he was told (or strongly hinted at) that RB would not be his position. JMO.

Obviously I have no way of knowing exactly how things will go with Hart and Crowell, especially right now. However, I hope you are wrong on both of your points. I think Hart is going to choose Bama and Crowell will also.

Get ready to Roll! This is going to be one heck of a class.

If we do get both Crowell and Hart, do we still go after Buck Allen or pass on him?

Good read. It seems in the comments section a lot of the UGA fans are having a blow up over Crowell saying Bama leads over UGA. Well that little Tidebit and the state of the Bulldogs program right now.

Crowell says he plans to announce his decision right after the season.

not a little after directly after.

Well if I was Crowell, my main concern about which team I would choose to go play for would be the offensive line. If he wants to succeed he had better choose wisely which offensive line that gives him the best chance to succeed.

I think that it is obvious which line is best. :BigA: It was also long speculated by many that he would eventually end up at Bama. Georgia is just making his decision easier. ROLL TIDE!!

After reading the comments in AJC article one thing is for sure. "It's good to be king!" :BigA:

I thought the aubs were a sad bunch but these bulldogs may be the worst I've ever seen. Talk about a bunch of losers. It's amazing reading all the lies and misinformation these GA fans vomit out like the sick puppies they are. :biggrin2:

If Bama is ahead of Georgia now, the gap is only going to widen as Georgia's season digresses, er, progresses.

Re: How can embattled Dogs compete w/Bama for top recruit?

The following doesn't make much sense:

Well, they’re losing a lot of games and have a lot of people getting arrested. There’s just a lot of things going wrong. I do want to play right away but I also want to be where it’s disciplined and they win championships.”

So if you’re UGA’s recruiters, how do you counter that? Um, home state loyalty? Naw, that doesn’t count for much these days. Mark Richt as a better shaper of young men than Nick Saban? Possibly.
How can he say Richt is a better shaper of young men if a recruit makes the above statement? Look at the arrests between the two schools since Saban arrived. UGA's arrest total this year is pretty close to the one Saban has had his whole time at Bama. Sorry for getting off topic, but that statement didn't make much sense to me.

Oh, I should have known better than to read the comments. I lost some of my intelligence with some of the dawg comments. I knew it was bad over there, but wow.

How long will the "Saban's gonna leave, he's never been anywhere longer than such and such years, he's on the way out the door" comments continue? Bitter meet delusional.

Bill King is a joke, he's a complete homer. Why in the heck would any young man want to play at UGAG when he could compete for championships at BAMA. I would rather be a part of a championship team than be a starter for some scrub team like UGAG. The Georgia fans are reaping what they sowed and for us BAMA fans here in Athens, we're gonna continue to enjoy it.

Whew!!!! This Crowell news is fantastic.

I see Crowell, Cyrus, and Clowney joining within the four months.....they will also take the 5-9 running back on Friday, who will commit to Bama (thanks to Ha Ha clin-Dix pushing him and Saban for the close). What a nice haul!!!!

One more DB, maybe Swann or Mitchell.

One more OL...maybe Ward or Region.

Maybe one more surprise stand-out LB/DT....and possibly the same for TE.

That makes 7 left. I bet they wish they had more slots this year, as at signing day, some big names might pop Bama's way...especially if Bama has another National Championship season.

Wonder who they will ask to Grey Shirt? I bet one of them will be a receiver.

That boat sailed a long time ago. I think it is somewhere up north... Say Wisconsin.

In looking at the remainder of Georgia's schedule, it looks like they will finsih the year with 4 or 5 wins...that's 5-7 at best. Crowell isn't going to a team that is in a downward spiral....he'll never get the national TV exposure like Ingram and Trent.

Re: How can embattled Dogs compete w/Bama for top recruit?

to the one Saban has had his whole time at Bama.

I'm generally wrong but didnt we have 2 under Saban (Johns, Elder)?

Or were you referring to Saban only losing one of HIS recruits to arrest (Elder)?

I was referring to players. Jimmy Johns and Courtney Upshaw were both arrested. I think Rashad Johnson was too, but his case was stupid and later dropped after the video was seen.
