hmm.. maybe its Ricks im thinking about..

Yes, it's Ricks. His parents are pushing him towards the barn, but he really wants to go to Bama and has us as his leader. Hopefully he will go with his heart.

Great quote from Marquis Johnson article on BOL:

Marquis said that he pretty much hates every school we will play...doesn't matter who.

What are our chances of landing Earl Alexander? I think he will be a great player!I think Hornsby said that Bama was not on his final cut. I like Earl better though hope he comes to Bama. It is great to hear about Johnson.

RTO of the recruits we signed so far who do you think will make the biggest impact next year?

Ford and Stover...... Stover will and Ford hopefully will be here in December for bowl practice and will go through spring. I can see Ford leaping Coffee....I think he's that good, he just needs to make sure he learns to pick up blocks well.
Stover could break into the rotation behind Brown and Hall in the spring. Depends on how much the Juco redshirt affects his game.

Realistically, we can redshirt a lot of the ones committed already. A couple of OL could make a push like Marlon Davis did....but hopefully we'll have the luxury to RS them.

RTO,

Sorry about the problem above. I thought it was okay as long as it was just a snippett and not the whole article. Sorry.

LOL, yeah, Marquis is catching on quite nicely to what it means to play for the University of Alabama. Us against the world.

LeSean Mccoy on ESPN News...

Guys ,
I just turned on my TV in time to catch the tail end of an interview with LeSean Mccoy , the # 1 ranked RB on Rivals...they asked which schools he has looking at and he mentioned Alabama, USC, Va Tech and i think a couple of other schools...It would probably be very hard to get him but it was cool th hear him mention us as one of his schools ......RTR !

RECRUITING NOTEBOOK: Fayson impressed by Crimson Tide
Chris Smelley is still in the picture for a scholarship offer from the Tide. The three-star quarterback from American Christian Academy feels good about the Alabama coaching staff extending an offer in the near future.

Smelley took an official visit to Ole Miss two weeks ago and had a great trip in Oxford. Smelley plans to take an official visit to Louisville and South Carolina. Coach Steve Spurrier is impressed with the quarterback, and may push for Smelley to leave the home state and help the Gamecocks contend in the SEC.
Rivals100.com Recruiting Rivals 100: Movers and shakers
There were some significant movements in the latest release of the Rivals100.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Nease quarterback Tim Tebow made his most significant jump since debuting at five-star status during the first rankings release in June. Tebow is enjoying a solid high school season and has proven that he will be physically ready to contribute as a freshman at whichever college he chooses to attend next year. Tebow is rated No. 19 in this rankings release and is closing the gap on Springdale (Ark.) quarterback Mitch Mustain, who comes in at No. 17.
Rivals.com Recruiting SEC Blitz: Heading south
SEC teams remain in great position.

"All the coaches at Alabama are great," Tebow said. "They have an outstanding program that is rich in tradition. I have a lot of respect for (Florida) coach Urban Meyer. They are going to be successful there and they're great people."

What is looking especially good for Alabama is that Tebow is also going to push an unofficial visit in between all those officials to watch the Crimson Tide take on LSU in Tuscaloosa.

My goodness things are slow on the recruiting front. Any new news guys?

If I get info, I post it here ASAP....I promise! Things are going to be slow until late next month and into December. After the Tebow commitment date, I expect things to pick up.

Big Andre's 6-4 Huffman team plays in the first round of the state playoffs this weekend. When Huffman's season comes to a close, we should start to hear some murmurings out of that neck of the woods.

i know this is parsing things to too great an extent, but the way Tebow says, "They are going to be successful there and they're great people," doesn't seem like the words one would choose about a team one is soon to be part of, more like how you would describe a rival team you are turning down.

more specifically, he is referring to florida as "they" in the future, which i take to mean, NOT "we" in the future.

i can hope can't I?
