Recruiting Weekend Master Merged Thread

just heard that Rogers will not visit So. Car. next weekend, so it's looking good for us.

and I do believe that we have moved "slightly" ahead of FSU for Greenwood's services.

Remember, if Rogers is in, we won't take any more DBs. And as far as the DL, first 2 that come more than likely.

i bet we wouldnt turn away the 5 star guy though

J Davis

This is really a surprise...........However,I tend to be a little skepical on this guy b/c he has flip flopped his leaders so often this year! Also, call be stubborn but I still like RU!

Davis would be a huge pickup for CMS. Rivals has also upgraded Upchurch and Ford to Four star players. And don't forget about Mikell Simpson.

The RBs we will get

There are currently 4 RBs we are pursuing. The staff has said they will take 1 more i beleive but i think they will end up taking 2. They stated they will take the first ones that commit

1). Roy Upchurch- Bama is leader, will announce in late january

2). Mikell Simpson- Bama or UVA- will announce middle of january

3). James Davis- Will probably commit to us after his visit to clemson

4). Mike Ford- Will announce on signing day per Bamamag

Thus Mike Ford can be taken out of the picture unless we miss out on all the rest. I think that Mikell Simpson will go to UVA simply because it is closer to his home. Which brings me to my conclusion that to finish off the RB class we will land James Davis and Roy Upchurch.

HOWEVER, The staff will leave at least one spot open on signing day with the increasing interest of Fred Rouse in Alabama. If Alabama misses out on Fred Rouse and all the D-Lineman committed elsewhere, Ford could still come to alabama.

Enjoy

What about the D lineman that is committed to osu?

Do we really have a shot. He is a difference maker. Will anything come out about osu before signing day. If it does it helps our case if not we probably dont get him. Does anyone know? And will there be any surprises come signing day?

Most of you will enjoy this article (if it hasn't already been posted). I think we all expect Rouse to go elsewhere. However, I encourage all of you to read this article. It really shows the job that Shula is doing. Not only with recruiting, but with this team as far as attitude and cohesiveness.

Rouse "amazed..."

Rouse's top 3 (in this order):

Texas
Bama
F$U

You are talking about Doug Worthington.

Brief recap on his comments about the weekend:

  • Great visit..even better than his visit to OSU.
  • Verbal depends a lot on what comes out with NCAA
  • Coach Randolph has us in this picture.
  • Looks to be a silent commitment type. Said he'd let the coach know, but the media might not know until Feb. 2nd.
  • Will take one, maybe two more visits

Just my personal opinion. We are in the "thick of things." I don't think we'll hear what he's going to do until Feb. 2nd but we'll likely know before that it..even better than his visit to OSU.

James Davis: "BAMA is my new leader."

This sounds great. Looks like the visit this weekend is paying off. However, i believe Rouse has declared Texas as his official leader.

'preciate the thought of information about Davis. That tidbit hit the 'net last week before this weekends visits.

Rouse, on the other hand, had a great visit and you very well may be right. If Texas does sign that QB they are after (likely will after missing Bomar last year to OU) I'd call Rouse to Texas a "given."

Rogers made up his mind but he's already told Tom Lemming he'll wait until his show next week to announce. Kills me having to wait for Lemming.

Is the QB you are speaking of Ryan Perrilloux? That seems to have come down to a two horse race between Texas and LSU. Will the highest bidder get him? ;)

No Chance!

We have no chance at Rouse. This is a kid who loves the red carpet aspects of the recruiting process and who could blame him. However, I do not see him coming to Alabama when he has said all along that he wants to go where there will be a strong quaterback coming in for 3-4 years. Texas will have Perriloux and USC will have Sanchez. I would say those two are the most likely along with FSU. JMO.

I am just thankful the receivers we have, have so much potential.

I wouldn't call being second on Rouse's list a "no chance". In all likelihood we won't get him, but that does not mean we have "no chance". We're in great shape to land Rouse should anything go wrong with Texas. That's a chance. I'd rather be #2 on his list than not even on his radar.

It's not a given that Perriloux is going to Texas. LSU is making a strong push to keep him in state.

If you say so...

Second Place is the number one loser...I believe Coach had a particular feeling about finishing second as well.

"Winning isn't everything, but it sure beats coming in second."

"At Alabama, we teach our men to win"

I'm not saying it won't suck to lose Rouse to Texas, I was just pointing out that we're not in a "no chance" situation with Rouse. We have a chance. Not a great one, but a chance none-the-less. Have you read what he said about Alabama after his visit? He loved it. Loved it. If Texas doesn't sign that QB, we're right back in it. That is not "no chance".

Did you read my entire post?

As said before, I posted the link to point out the fact that the staff is doing a good job in getting the blue chippers attention. A sign that things are getting back to normal around here. But, judging by your comment, you are not that impressed to begin with. Unless, of course, I am misinterpreting.

Also, you didn't have to remind me, or anybody else, that we have a slim chance at Rouse. Well, you said no chance, and that's incorrect. No chance means he doesn't even visit.

Everyone pretty much knows about Rouse....

any word on how, the "all-world" JC wide-out, Julius McClellan (sp?) liked his visit?
