Remaining Recruits

I'll take a shot at it:
RB: Devin White
WR: A.J. Brown, Cavin Ridley
TE: Issac Nauta
OL: Jauan Williams
DL: Derrick Brown, Jeffrey Simmons, Johnathan Kongbo
LB: Ben Davis, Lyndell Wilson
DB: Mecole Hardman Jr., Nigel Knotts, Nigel Warrior

I would love to get AJ... I haven't seen anything about where he is leaning or thoughts so far.

Since 7/29 we have gotten only one verbal for 2016. That's 152 days. I know we are still in on some high profile players but I don't recall any fall as quiet on the recruiting front as this one. Could this be the cumulative effect of us being constantly in the playoff hunt or possibly a side effect of losing Smart?

It makes me want to Vomit to see Ole Miss listed as #1 on Rivals but their class is pretty much filled out so their ranking will have to fall as other schools finish out their classes.

At what point, if at all, do consistently highly ranked recruiting classes (stockpiled talent) and high achievement levels as a program actually begin to work against you in recruiting? And yes, I know, folks will say, "Don`t want/need you if you`re afraid of competition." Just wondering if it might be becoming something of a more serious factor(?). I`m sure others use the " You`ll wait your turn there, they`ve got so much talent ahead of you" to our disadvantage.

In the bigger picture, this probably helps winnow out the "me first" types, who are probably not gonna be successful in our processes anyway. Fortunately, there are still plenty of VERY good players who understand and want first rate preparation for football AND life after football. Do we not get some talented players because of what you brought up? Sure . . And it is too danged bad for both them and us.

Some - this years' Heisman trophy winner for example - actually want the sort of structure we offer. Henry being only one example, of course.

Our results in the Saban era are ample evidence that the way he/we do things is more successful than any other program. Count me among those thrilled to be watching it work. It wins like no other and it is something of which we can be proud, not embarrassed.

Nice list hope this is correct I would like to see another RB in this class. I know we are still in on White but not sure of any others at this time.

Agreed. I have heard some say that we are being much more selective this cycle. It reminds me when FSU was on top...they would have about 5 guys verbally committed before NSD and then get 10 x 5 star kids and rank the number one class. Regardless, we are going to get who we want for the most part.

I just don't see AJ Brown leaving Mississippi. I hope he does because I would really like to have him at Bama. Apparently he is really showing out at the Under Armor practices.

Juan is down to a final three. Bama isn't included.

Delance doesn't include Alabama in his final group, either.

Perhaps we`re done at OT. Looks like it`ll take some real CMC and CNS magic between now and signing day. That`s assuming there are other pure OTs on the board(?).

Hulk is recruiting Gary at the UA game

A lot of schools have their commitments recruiting Gary.....

The Shark (McCulloch)had a interesting comment about D. Jackson and a couple of other non committed players discussing playing at the same school.

Start believing because we are more than just in the hunt ;)

I am hearing that also but we have had no luck signing the MS kids. I saw him play in the AL/MS all-star game and he is the real deal. You can see how he moves for his size is tremendous. I hope we get him because he is going to be a very good or great player.

I hope we are not done. We only signed 1 OT last year (Cotton has been playing OT but was recruited to play OG) and we have commits from 2 in this class with 1 being a JUCO. We are going to be very thin at OT if we do not sign another one.

I believe they are going after Dickerson real hard...is listed as a top Guard, but says Bama is recruiting him as an OT.

Interesting. 4 star out of N. Carolina. Sounds like a tall (6`5"), rangy kid. Probably has a good span. If 247 is correct, has never set foot in Tuscaloosa but has an official set for 1/22. Must like something about us. I always think we have a chance at least with any kid we can get on campus with CNS and the crew. If the staff likes him, hope he rolls with the Tide.
