Remaining slots!!

As of right now seeing this year we were depleted at WR we could take up to five receivers.

My top 6 include
Rueben Randle between us and LSU
Morgan Moses (ours to lose)
Dre Kirkpatrick between us and Florida
Tana Patrick wide open, but we have Saban in his ear
Chad Bumphis between us and Miss State
Kendall Kelly between us and Auburn

I hope we can get them all. If we do we are in the top 2 in recruiting once again.

Three are five stars Randle, Kirkpatrick, and Moses.

Three are four stars in Patrick, Bumphis, and Kelly

Three WRs Randle, Bumphis, and Kelly
OL Moses
DB Kirpatrick
LB Patrick

I have looked up all potential recruits and narrowed it down by visits, offers, and interest by player and coaches.

Coach Saban knows what he is doing..... I mean Lester at LSU was a 3 star, and I have seen 5 stars not amount to You know what.

Congrats to SABAN for his recruites this year, even if we dont get all these guys, a lot of them will be nice. Keep doing what you do and Thank YOU for building this team back to where it needs to be!!!

6 - 6 should have won all these games, 7 points or less... But he had to get control of those seniors (Hall and company sitting them on the bench) which led to LEADERSHIP this year...

12 - 0 LOVELY!!!!!

:eek2: Now that would be some serious number crunching.

:BigA: RTR!

As crazy as this may sound, but I don't think 11 more signees on top of our current 19 is a far-fetched number when you consider (1) we will have 2-3 more than likely that fail to academically qualify, and (2) attrition on the current roster.

Have faith, folks. Nick knows what he is doing...

It's so much more fun following Coach Saban down the stretch when compared to xcms .

For the record , this is why I said I felt as many as 11 could be a remote possibility . It would have to be an asbsolute perfect storm but , think about how hard it would be to turn down most of these guys ......

Randle
Kelly
Bumphis
Massie

Moore
Cox
Stinson
Patrick
Myles
Kirkpatrick
B.Smith

Also , no matter how he's counted , Murphy now looks to be more promising than he ever has in the past .

I don't think it will come to pass for us but , as long as these guys and Lutzenkirchen are still out there it remains possible . In the end , I feel we'll finally get Murphy enrolled along with signing 7 or more of the other prospects mentioned . JOMO :)

With two #1 ranked recruiting classes (50 players), on Bama's team, will it negatively effect the recruiting the next couple years? It hasn't seemed to hurt Saban's previous recruiting (or teams like USC, Texas, etc.) but it will be ammo for rivals negative recruiting.

BTW, I heard a sportscaster say that Bama was about to become "the USC of the East" in recruiting. Truer words were never spoken.......if USC can keep up with us!!!!!

Will Murphy be a backcounter?

It really won't matter. There will be two between Murphy, Preyear, Warmack, and Carpenter. They are all enrolling and will be in school come January. Two of them will be taking 2 of the 25 we can bring in for next season. Which class each counts against realy doesn't matter. This means we have 23 left to fill, 20 committed, and 9 Scholarship SRs. As LCN said, these are interesting times we live in. :BigA:

I highly doubt it. Nine times out of ten the "cream of the crop" will go where the talent is, sure you'll miss out on a few that opt for places that can offer more immediate playing time but that's about it. I expect us to be around the top 5 in recruiting every year for as long as CNS is still here. JMHO.

Agreed, these guys want to go where they can be showcased the best and developed...they all feel like they can beat out the next guy for the job. As you can see a lot of times in USC's case, those blue chippers that do seem to get bogged down in the depth chart either stay and enjoy their college experiences or transfer out. I think they've transferred 2 RBs out in 2-3 years due to having too much talent at the position.

I agree. Bama is one of the few real "names" in college football. Saban has shown that he can send guys to the pros and Bama is getting TONS of attention in tye press/tv - all big draws for recruits.

As evidence as to how such recruiting can feed itself, watch the Patriots. They are starting a QB who never even started a game at USC, but was drafted and is now 7th in the league in passing yardage. In other words, if your talent level is high enough, you can sell the fact that you don't even have to start on our team to get a chance in the NFL.

I understand that the coaching staff will make the numbers work. They know what they are planning to do with different scenerios. But does anybody have a plausible hypothetical idea of what the plan is to get the number to 85, if we sign 25-30. It seems unreal to me that such high profile recruits would be willing to delay their entrance. The coaching staff probably has a very good idea of who will qualify and that plays into all this, but I've followed recruiting a long time and this year is the most puzzling for numbers I've seen.

But I'm convinced there is a plan, and man, the quality of recruits is through the roof as many of you have observed.

Like FSU during the early 90's .
