NEW ORLEANS -- Miami is No. 1. It will stay that way.
Alabama doesn't have a hope, or a prayer, or a shot in the dark of upsetting the Hurricanes for the national championship in tonight's Sugar Bowl. And it won't even be close. Alabama will be trounced, clobbered, mauled, devastated, humiliated and left for dead. The Crimson Tide will not roll, not even a little bit. Tonight you will experience low Tide. Probably even ebb Tide. You wouldn't even have to hike up your pant legs to wade in what be left of this Tide after the Hurricanes pass through.

Tonight the Tide won't roll. It will roll over.

Let's not count these guys out yet.

Auburn is not unbeatable.

Don't tell that to many on here

If you believe that Bama has a prayer, you're are either

1) Not in reality
2) On drugs
3) An idiot

One of the three apparently

I'm glad i'm not the only one on this board that see's that. Never, and I mean never count Alabama out. The 1992 was a prime example. True our defense was great that year. The offense was decent. Our 'D' isn't to shaby this year. All we need is that 1 break on offense, and with Spencer able to complete some down the field passes against LSU, that break is very very close. We will beat Auburn. Roll Tide!

Amen, good post, the TIDE will roll

I have a feeling

and someone else said it under baseless predictions....that Guillon plays due to Spencer's injury. With our D playing the way it is (LSU played Auburn to 10-9) we can keep the score low. We do need to pass the ball. We need a break from special teams. If they could put him in some out of the shotgun and let him get it to the playmakers we'd sure have a better chance. Never give up.

In 1992, we were undefeated going into the Sugar Bowl and I was totally confident of a win over Miami. My prediction the week before the game was 17-13, in favor of the Tide. There is no doubt in my mind that we can beat the Barn on Saturday. There is doubt that we actually will beat them. If not for the injuries, I would probably predict the same score (17-13) that I predicted in 1992 for the Sugar Bowl. This year, I honestly have no idea what to expect. Or maybe I should say, I don't want to really tell anybody what I expect. All I can say is Roll Tide and I hope this team comes together to get the job done. I will always be behind my team!!!

What it will take to beat AU on Saturday...

in my not-so-humble opinion, we will need to play a 100% mistake free game and we'll have to get at least 3 turnovers to beat them.

I am still confident that our defense can play with their offense, but not so confident that our offense can take the ball on long sustained drives on their defense. Therefore, I think we'll need turnovers to win this game. They can come as a fumble, INT or even a blocked punt, but we need to steal this one...remember "punt Bama punt"? Well, we need to turn that around this year!

With that said, if we get lucky and it rains as is predicted right now, all bets are off...it will slow them down and give us the break we need! I am doing my rain dance all week! Rain always favors the underdog!

Defense, Special Teams and HEART is what it's going to take to win this Saturday.

The defense is going to have to score at least once. And bend but not break.

Special teams are going to have to be perfect this week and create some big plays.

And finally, it's going to take heart. More heart than these guys have shown all season (and they've shown PLENTY).

The offense is going to have to pull out every stop and play an error-free ball game. Most importantly, they must keep the chains moving to give our defense a rest.

If these things all happen, a win can happen. Everyone knows that in this series, the records mean nothing. For that reason alone, these players have to know that if they want it bad enough -- they can make it happen.

Maybe it is an omen today that ESPN Classics showed the '84 Iron Bowl before it showed any others . . .

Everytime we are the underdog do we have to bring up a game that was played 12 years ago? We have played other big games. And another thing. We were better than the other team 12 years ago. The barn is better than we are this year. We may win and then that would truly be an upset. twelve years ago was not an upset. We were the better team. Can we move on from the sugar bowl from 12 years ago now?

Realistically, we can win
exactly. dont say that we dont have a chance. crap. have a little pride. its ok to set yourself up for disappointment. deep down i know they will win, but i also know that there is a chance( be it slim) that we could pull the upset. "If you can run the football and play good defense, the you will win more than you lose." so said Gene Stallings.

Games can be won on the ground. True, Auburn on paper should whip us, but that's why games are played and not run through some computer model.

We're a 8.5 point underdog Saturday.

92 we were a 10+ point dog.

This Saturday would be a bigger upset?Just what do you base that up on?

haha comeon now, Bama's team in 92 was one incredible team. that team had a solid quarterback to lead the team and depth. I was telling everyone I knew that Bama was going to beat the canes. this is different, we don't have nearly the team we did in 92.
