attn: EVERYONE.

Please remove ALL websites (names, links, url's, etc) from your signatures....and do it IMMEDIATELY. continued violators will be subject to our 3 strikes rule. repeat offenders are subject to suspension. reread site policies for more info.

NOTE: beginning monday, October 17, we will reserve the right to blocking access to ANYONE (exception = mods who have links to their moderated forum on TideFans) who has a link of ANY KIND in the signature.

You might want to put a link to the policies or point out that they can be found in the FAQ section. I could find no place with a prominent link to the policies.

Are there any policies dealing with graphic images in posts? There is a graphic image of Tyrone Prothros injury in this post that seems to be in pretty poor taste.

BTW, does Spell Check work for anyone? I always get "An error occured, please notify your administrator." when I try to use it.

The tidefans policy should have been read before anyone agreed to the policy when registering. The policy can be viewed under FAQ in the crimson banner at the top. The policy isn't long and anyone with less than 5 minutes should be able to complete the task even if you have to point at the words with your fingers and read moving your lips.

To make a long story short, if the site owner makes a post for everyone to remove websites from signatures, just do it. Tidefans is not a democracy and the site owner is not an elected official who can be voted out. His word is law, end of discussion.

Wow, I was just trying to make a helpful suggestion. I didn't know I was questioning the site owners authority. :)

Justification for Rule?

Not that it affects me, but what is the justification or reasoning for this rule?

Sigh..........

We have provided the link to the site policy. But here is the rule in a nutshell.

We do not tolerate any of the following in any post or article and reserve the right to, without notice, immediately and/or permanently block the member from posting should one or more of these occur:

Gratuitous links to non-sports or non-Bama related sites

Gratuitous links to other Bama/SEC-specific boards. (In other words, if you have a Bama or SEC board, don't use TideFans.com to advertise your site unless you want to pay us for the advertising space and reach!!)

Do links to pr0n count as websites in signatures? I don't have time to read the policy. One of only a couple of downsides to being a bootlegger.

Put the bottle down and go to bed Jack. ;)

Thanks for the response...sarcasm not needed

Thanks to bayoutider for the respone, although I would like to note the sarcasm is not necessary. A simple response would be sufficient.

Occasionally a little sarcasm is justly doled out. ;)

GOOD LORD....pic is a pic. It is a broken leg for petes sake, not a beheading from Iraq.

And what if the sarcasm is returned back to you? This is why I believe sarcasm by moderators should be kept to a minimum. :)

Seriously, at another board there's a moderator who is constantly critizing and jumping on folks with constant sarcasm knowing good and well the same response back would result in a banning. I would prefer the moderator to take off the king's crown while posting about everyday stuff. When a moderator is needed, then put the crown back on. It's easy to see why this guy has more posts that everyone else combined, he get's to go to battle with a one arm advantage!

Not talking about you guys by the way.

On the subject of signiture's, I can understand your point of view.

That's one of the things that sucks about this...there is a lot of things we find out but don't post because it would come back on TF.com. Not to mention, there are a decent number of people who come on this site that say things we disagree with...ask Rich about his "list."
