I trust Saban and i believe in these kids. Heck, we all have a bad day. I'm just glad that mine are not on national TV. :eek2:
If you're in Jonesboro, there are a lot of bad days. Just kiddin'!

edit: Ooops, I just saw the multiquote reply, I'll use that next time.

I love the way TR runs back kick-offs - he's fast and very explosive! But I agree that he looked a little slower and tentative on the last couple of kick-offs. Did I read on another thread that he was wearing a boot to classes last week? If that's the case, then maybe that had a lot to do with it.

I'm all for leaving these decisions to Coach Saban. I'm all in with the Tide. I don't like losing any better than the next fan but I think we still have a very fine team that had a let down and I'm positive the problems will be solved by the powers that be. Roll Tide ps-negativism helps no one but the opposition.

Can we get Trent off the kick returning team? Also what is he doing on kick coverage? He looked very tired toward the end of the sc game and seemed if he was easily arm tackled.
Yes! Please stop putting the ball in our best play makers hands. How ridiculous! I mean what do kick returns have to do with anything anyway? We should put someone with far less skill and ball security skills out there for this.

I want play makers on the field not on the bench. Your topic does say Richardson needs to quit returning kicks. Sounds like you want him replaced to me or do you just want him to fair catch or let the ball drop wherever it stops. You cant say one thing and mean something else without someone calling you out.

Something that I've found kind of funny is that teams kick away from Julio intentionally and straight to Trent who is possibly our most explosive player.

I know Julio is quite the athlete but he never has been real effective returning kick offs.

Still, it's like teams are scared to death of him.

Oh...as far as the thread, Trent is one of the best kick returners in America and I agree with those who believe we should get the ball in his hands as many times as possible in whatever way we can.

TR is the best, most versatile special teams player at the University of Alabama. I wish he didn't have to be on the field on those plays, but I don't think doing that hurt his performance at RB last Saturday. Shoot, he has essentially rested the second half of each of our last two games.

what were his returns from out of the end zone? I know one went for about 30 and another to the 14?

It's hard to say take a knee because he does do a good job of getting some yards out of it.

Didnt say one thing and mean something out.I said one thing and everyone jumps to their own assumptions about what it was I meant. I didnt say I knew what Trent was thinking or that the coaches need replaced. What I stated was my own assumption.I havent talked to him so I wouldnt know.Obviously.I wouldnt think I would have to tell anyone these basic assumptions.

Maybe I should repost my thoughts in a more unmisconstruable manner.

I(meaning me and no one else) thought (my thought and only my thoughts based soley on my opinion and no one else)(opinion =
1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.
2.a personal view, attitude, or appraisal.
3.the formal expression of a professional judgment: to ask for a second Medical opinion.
4.Law . the formal statement by a judge or court of the reasoning and the principles of law used in reaching a decision of a case.
5.a judgment or estimate of a person or thing with respect to character, merit, etc.: to forfeit someone's good opinion.
6.a favorable estimate; esteem: I haven't much of an opinion of him. )

that he(Trent Richardson) looked (using 20/20 corrected vision) slow or sluggish in the third and fourth qtr.
(sluggish =
1. indisposed to action or exertion; lacking in energy; lazy; indolent: a sluggish disposition.
2.not acting or working with full vigor, as bodily organs: a sluggish liver.
3.slow to act or respond: a sluggish car engine.
4.moving slowly, or having little motion, as a stream.
5.slow, as motion.
6.slack, as trade, business, or sales. )

Again IMO (In my opinion, not based on facts or coaching experience) getting someone else out there to rest him(again Trent Richardson) would have perhaps(meaning not necessarily so) been more rested in those qtrs.Seeing as how it was JMO(meaning just my opinion, not based on any scientific equipment) no radar detector was needed. When I put actual facts out there I will definitely clarify those statements as being FACTS and will use any equipment/link required to provide said proof.Until then please assign any statements made by me to be pure conjecture or opinion.

P.S Further note my op was not influenced by any adult beverages.
P.S.S Would also like to preapologize for any gramatical errors because besides not being a coach I am neither an english teacher.

In summation, please quit beating people up for voicing their opinions.
Thank you.

Agree he is a great kick returner but at the cost to our running game?

The only time Trent hasn't looked effective as a runner was Saturday.

But neither did Mark and he doesn't return kicks.

So I really don't think the kick returns had anything to do with it on this particular day.

They both looked tired but I think that was a result of playing Arkansas and Florida back to back.

You know, if this was a few years back and this back was being asked to carry the ball for the most of game, you would not have him back there. But with him splitting the load with Ingram and he appearing to be so competitive on the field, let's get him in there. He has given us a boost on several returns this year. Its been positive what he's been able to accomplish. Its like the line in Secretariat, let him run.

TR is like the rest of the team, need a breather. been going strong since fall practice began, the weather has been brutal this year.also being on top takes a mental toal always trying to make a big play and worring about making a mistake and costing the team. will find out more about the team after lswho, should win the next 2 but lswho will be the defining game for this team.

Here is an honest question for anyone (especially the original poster)

Who would you rather have out of the two players based on these stats:

1. 19 KR for 551 yards 0 TD
2. 17 KR for 482 yards 1 TD

Honest answer please

I'll take both. They each average more than 28 yards per kick return which means we would be starting most drives beyond the 30.
