That Paul Phillips and Jeremy Brown were sent down to Triple-A didn't come as much of a surprise, since any chance either of them had at securing their team's respective backup catching duties was effectively wiped out when the Royals signed Jason LaRue and the A's brought back Adam Melhuse.
Dustan Mohr was an extreme long shot to make the team in Tampa Bay with their crowded outfield situation. He'll likely either try to catch on with another organization or begin the season as a Durham Bull.
Unfortunately, Tankersley will begin the season on the 15-day DL.
Cormier out-pitched every other arm on the Atlanta roster this spring.
Matt Downs has been knocking the cover off the ball in Giants minor league camp.
