Sometimes it is tough to swallow, but I think JaMarcus Russell deserves some major kudos. He has won several games for LSU so far, but none as clutch as this one. He stood tall against undoubtedly the top defensive unit in the nation. It always hurts to lose, but I find it easier to take when it comes at the hand of greatness. The Utah Jazz lost plenty of times to the Bulls, but they lost knowing that spite it all Jordan found a way when any other mere mortal wouldn't have gotten the shot off or have had the finesse to split the defense. I think Russell is quickly building a resume that puts him in the likes Young and Leinhart. He seems to have more maturity than most first year starters. Look how Marcus Vick held up to Miami.

I dunno, but I definitely hope he dabbles in declaring for the draft because he has a chance to do some great things at the rest of the SEC expense if he stays.

I don't think he will declare for the draft until after next season, but even if he does we have the # 1 QB recruit from last year who can throw like russell, but also has great scrambling ability. Ryan Perrilloux. You will see him play some next year. Also I would like to see alabama play more of their second string to see what he can do. He came in for one play and he is fast. JJ.

Nice points. Jimbo has a rep of working with these guys. No way JR declares, because he still is a work in process. He's more like Leinart in pure passing skills [plus they're both less than nimble], and less like VY, who can scramble, but lacks polish as a passer.

The Tigers will be an interesting team next year. JR @ QB [which will certainly be his last year], Justin Vincent & Alley Broussard in the bf, Bowe & Davis as senior receivers. The O-line loses some seniors, but a lot of stud sophs and juniors have been getting quality p-t this year.

We have to replace Syler as a return specialist. There will be talent there, but a downgrade.

On D, we lose a lot [not as much as yuze guys] -- quick DT's are gone, plus Ronnie Prude and in all likelihood Laron Landry, who will declare.

On offense, we'll be downright scary. On D, if we can keep it under 17 a game, we'll do very well.

Russell and LSU

Yeah, they're a great team. How in the world did phat phil beat them? Miles has learned a lot as the season has gone on and has them playing top notch ball now. We're a step or two behind talent wise especially on offense.

I hate to pull for ole siss or hawg nutts to give us a chance at the championship! But if we take care of awbern I'll do it.

Do you think the officals knew our offensive line were gonna have to hold so Brodie wouldn't get killed so they decided to be fair about it and not call LSu for holding either? Just kidding but it had to something worked out like that between the officials.
