Always interesting to see what the other coaches have to say about you....

One on Bama....

The dropoff from Trent Richardson to Eddie Lacy might not be as much as people think. Lacy is actually bigger, I think, and he had some runs against North Texas, when we were breaking them down, where he looked like a clone of Richardson. He is very, very capable of being an 1,100- or 1,200-yard rusher next year.

and one on the barn...

I don’t know about the quarterback situation. I guess they don’t either. That’s never a good thing.

How much you want to bet that none of those quotes came from any SEC coach? Easy to see through this one.

I'm surprised nobody talked about Mississippi St's secondary with two Senior starting corners who both are tied for the lead among all active FBS players with 3 INT's returned for touchdowns with Banks and Broomfield. They're loaded back there.

Banks is the best CB in the country IMO and a potential 1st round pick. Loads and loads of INT's and experience between Banks and Broomfield.

Nickoe Whitley is the most violent hitter I've seen at the safety position in many years. That's no joke. He also displays tremendous range and closing speed. Another potential 1st or 2nd round pick if he declares early.

I think Miss. St. has the most underrated secondary in the country.

Athlon does this every year. I think they talk to bottom-rung SEC graduate assistants and doctor the comments heavily before publishing. I strongly doubt that any respectable SEC head coach or assistant coach would make these kind of observations for a preseason publication, even anonomously.

Banks & Broomfield. sounds like a Law Firm. :)

Bingo, we have us a winner.

At most it's low level graduate assistants, and to be brutally honest I imagine most of it is just made up out of thin air by the writers and editors. Besides, you can tell just by reading the text that the quotes came from one individual, not multiple "coaches."

I'm going with the writer(s) and editor(s) being the the source. Frankly, the language and the tone being used is far too casual and resembling of a sidewalk fan to be any legitimate coach.
