SEC Network Links and news

What is the SEC Alternate channel? It is listed but all that us on there is the screen saver thing that was on all day yesterday.

I'd give ESPN an "A" on the opening day. I watched a good bit of the first couple hours and it looks great!!!

I'd give them an :BigA: on the first four classic games they have shown. I'm watching Bama/FL from 2009 right now!!!

U-Verse hasn't been giving me any issues on the cable receiver or WatchESPN. I have U-450 if that makes any difference.

My issues now are with my Xbox One updating it's built-in "one guide" with SECN on it.

I watched the re-run last night. It was a success just because there is a channel now. Hopefully, it will improve over time but I was expecting a little more out of the production quality of the SEC Now show. To me, if you are going to have a channel being broadcast in 90M homes, I think the production of the channel's premier news show ought to be similar to SportsCenter. Not much in the way of studio visual graphics and such. I also prefer the name SEC Live to SEC Now. If they dont somehow improve on that, I probably wont be tuning in too much other than to watch games.

I do think it was a nice touch to highlight all the sports in the inaugural show. I may have missed it, but I didnt see much pub on Vandy winning the NC in baseball this summer.

U300 and U450 are working for streaming but U200 isn't. They let you watch it with U200 but not stream it

Things will improved. For the first show it wasn't bad. I enjoyed the content more than I did the performances. But trust me, they'll continue to clean things up and refine it.

They had nice segments on the Vanderbilt and Gamecocks baseball national titles.

I think the SEC now is going to be similar to the College Football Daily show that was on ESPNU. Dari was the host as well. I actually really enjoyed that format instead of the sportscenter.

when football season starts, I imagine it will take a more "sportscenter" feel.

If it does that would be fine with me. I just hate watching sportscenter now...because I don't care about the other sports. So having it be only about the SEC..will be enough to get me to watch.

As I posted earlier, my DirecTV contract expired July 7. but I stuck in there hoping that they would pick up the SEC Network. A couple of weeks ago I inquired about it and was told that "No, DirecTV has no plans to add the SEC Network to their channel lineup". So I called AT&T and arranged for them to add my TV to my existing Uverse account, then I called and cancelled my DirecTV account, which I've had for the past 19 years. So what did DirecTV do? They added the SEC network the very next day!
Today, I'm sitting here watching the 2009 SECCG, the 2012 SECCG and the 2012 Bama/ND BCS Championship Games on the SEC Network via AT&T Uverse.
It's obvious this will take some getting used-to, but the more I watch it, the better I like it. There are 2 things I like about Uverse that are so much better than DirecTV. The first is when you cancel or delete a recorded program, it's permanently erased. It's not just put on a mile long list of shows you've already canceled or deleted.
The next is when a thunderstorm or heavy rain passed through, I don't have to worry about the satellite cutting out until the weather passes.
Also, when the power goes out, even for a second, I no longer have to put up with the satellite powering back up, re-initializing, searching for signal, etc., etc.., and waiting for it to come back on. With Uverse, it's always on.
This weekend I'm going to be disconnecting and removing that DirecTV dish (and pole) that's sitting in my back yard.
So, "Sorry, DirecTV. You snooze, you lose."

I really think I'm going to like this channel! I stayed up and watched the 2009 SECG last night.
One thing that gave me the creeps was seeing the convicted murderer on the Florida side line. I think Hernandez caught a pass in that game. You never know!
