- Texas A&M - win and in......or lose, but have Bama or Ole Miss lose and still in.

- Alabama - beat Auburn....(Texas beats A&M....IN)...(MSU beats Ole Miss....IN) or win the 3 way tie with UGA and Ole Miss

- Georgia - Bama lose OR ATM lose.....OR win the 3 way tie with Ole Miss and Bama

- Ole Miss - beat MSU....ATM lose and Bama lose

TIEBREAKER
1. Head to Head
2. Record vs all common conference opponents
3. Record vs highest placed common conference opponent in conference standings
4. Cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents among tied teams
5. Capped relative total scoring margin vs all conference opponents
6. Random draw of tied teams.

So I'm guessing we need:
- Beat Auburn obviously
- Tennessee to beat Florida
- Vandy to beat Kentucky badly
- Vandy to beat Tennessee
- Missouri to beat Arkansas

not all of those are needed, but if we get into tie breakers with UGA and Ole Miss, they can't hurt.

I remember when it was so simple, so simple that we would make fun the Big Twelve and others for their complicated mess. Wow, now we have copied them. The SEC has improved it worse. If I remember it was the third or fourth step was the highest ranked in the BCS poll. That settled it. We should still do that. K.I.S.S.

Whats evident in the large P4 conferences is the disparity of schedules. 8&4 played the majority of the bottom SEC teams vs our schedule or OU's or even USCe. Its the same in the B10...OSU does not play ANY of the top 4 in their conference...Indiana plays one and Oregon plays 2. Its similar in the B12 and ACC....all schedules are not equal..yet the committee treats them as such...OSU/IU getting treated as great but playing mostly losing teams. ND gets the same...after losing to the top 2 teams on their schedule they play teams who are combined sub .500. This has made the comparison of teams nigh on impossible if done logically..and made most fans angry...just go on X and read rants by Miami/ND/BYU/GT and many other fans...all this to say if we win out we are in....or should be....barring some weird committee decision..RTR

Our best case scenario is to beat AU and finish 10-2 and lose out on a tie breaker for the SEC championship game. We need the extra rest to regroup and retool.

However I’m of the opinion, provided OU wins out, that if we finish 10-3 with a loss in Atlanta, especially if that loss is a close one to a 12-0 Texas A&M, that we would be a virtual lock for the playoff.

I agree, but nobody uses the BCS Formula...(but they absolutely should). 😎

I saw a post on X that said all of TAMU's conference wins are against NONE of the teams currently ranked in the AP take 25.

It's ludicrous that their schedule has been so easy when you compare it to ours and many others in the SEC!
Well to be fair, not many thought their schedule would be this easy. Is it their fault lsu, barn, USCe, and Florida all sucked?

That's fair and true, but having lived among them for several years, TAMU fans are more of a cult than the barn. Just a little more highfalutin type so knowing their fan base, they may not see their 8-0 SEC record for what it is.

Getting way ahead of things with this but I think it would be better for a NC possibility to actually plan in the SECCG and win it to ensure we get one of the first round home games in the playoffs.

There's already a pretty good break baked into that which would allow us to rest and get ready.

Plus, last year the four teams that got byes that played the 1st round winners all lost so I think there is precedent that it might be this best "path forward."

FWIW, I agree that we should be in a 10-2 even if we don't play in the SECCG

I would not be shocked for Texas to upset A&M.

I don’t think Texas is better or even a good team but upsets do happen in this series.

That plus where the series is almost a coin flip in College Station, Texas has been historically dominant as the Home team winning around 80-85% of the time.

I’m not sure how that affects the SECCG.

It would be funny though.

I would certainly prefer to win the SEC and be 11-2. We just seem out of gas at this point, in a lot of ways.

IF (notice the bolded caps) we handle this loss correctly and make the necessary adjustments and play our cards right this Saturday AND then if we show up angry and focused against the barn (despite the Voodoo we know that place holds) we SHOULD throttle this boog team.

IT'S TIME WE BEAT A BAD BARN TEAM DECISIVELY!!!

I just hope the staff punches the right buttons the next couple of weeks to pull this off!!!

If so, we enter the SECCG pretty rested and healthy, hopefully.

Before anyone says it, I will say this in response to my wishful thinking: "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas." 😁

I just really really want to get to 10-2 by beating AU for the 6th straight year.

I’ve had Phone Numbers saved since 2007 waiting for this moment to happen.

I’m 90% sure I won’t use them…. Though 2007 me 100% wanted to.

I forget nothing. I forgive almost nothing 😅

Gonna be interesting to see how things play out. I wish we would use this next game to really find some depth, usable depth going into this final stretch. Barney will be a tough out at home, highly emotional game for them. We make it to the SECCG then we are going to need another gear. Not saying 8&4 is all that but they will be amped up to potentially win the league for the first time in program history. But you still have to like our chances if we can just get back mid season form. We are going to need some really good coaching and some dudes are going to have to step up.

I want the Crimson Thumb too! And then that gives us a great chance to push it to 7 next year!

I think it was the 70s the last time we beat the barn that many times in a row. IIRC, we beat them 10 in a row from '70-'80
