Shaun Alexander tipping the hand?

*Hint* You can't finish a season you never started.

The only National Championship coaches (72 years old or less) that didn't coach this season are:

Bobby Ross

Tom Osborne

Gene Stallings

Jimmy Johnson

Let's see...

Bobby Ross...don't see it.

Tom Osborne..isn't he in Congress now?...wouldn't hapen.

Jimmy Johnson..I've had thoughts.....BUT

Is Stallings coming back ????????

Surely if that was the case, they would have already announced it, and Stallings wouldn't have been talking down about Nienas on Finebaum today....

If it's Jimmy, does that mean Howie would be our DC and Terry our OC ?????

You are forgetting the COLLEGE part. Never said anything about pro regular season.

Nick Saban is the only other National Championship winning coach not on the list, but he is coaching this season. He did start a season...in the NFL.

Unless there was something SERIOUSLY wrong at OU I just cannot see it. If he is unhappy with the administration or something that is one thing but coming to Alabama would, at best, be a lateral move. Really it would be a step down considering where we are and where OU is.
And I agree completely- just sayin' what I've heard, by folks who aren't hittin' the meth lab....

Note: Jimmy Johnson reportedly offered to assist Miami with their coaching search, if he had any interest in returning to the college sidelines, you would think it would be there.

After all, he put them on the map an Coarl Gables is closer to his house in Tavinear.

Exactly my point, I was implying he never started a college season

per Mal Moore-

"...while I won’t get into specifics of who we are interested in, I want everyone to understand that we have not contacted any college coaches who have not yet completed their regular seasons."

If reading between th e lines it could be Stoops. Mal said has not contacted anyone who has not finished "regular season". OU has finished their "regular season" and are now playing conference championship. Just a guess.

I've got it down to three.
1.Saben- never started a college season.
2.Spurrier-his regular seasons over.
3.johnson-army & navy is still regular season. This radio station in tenn. had a small college coach that said he thought we would end up signing him.

With those hints, it starts to point to Jimmy Johnson, but that doesn't make sense. If it were JJ, they could move forward now. So, it would only be Stoops and SOS who have won NC's.:conf2:

Ya'll need to start embracing all candidates as possibilities. There are a couple of candidates that some of you are refusing to even consider. Based on what I am hearing they could make a movie about this when its over.

I will rank them for you.

1) An Enterprising Choice
2) Flipper

If you are paying attention you can figure out at least one of the two. If you are really good you can figure about both of them. I'm going with one.
