Shula's mouth

And we wonder why we are aving so much trouble with coaches.

Some people are too concerned about what the coach is saying on the sideline during an intense game. Let the man coach our team. If you don;t like to see him mouthing curse words then listen to the radio!!!!!! ***!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I am feeling the effects of the season.

I'm not too happy with his mouth either. I keep reminding myself his background is the NFL, and his mouth is probably mild compared to those guys. However, he needs to remember he's in a college town now in the heart of the Bible belt, and that type of language is shunned in public. Anyway, he's got bigger things to worry about these days.

He really...

can't win, can he? It's either "deer in the headlights" or it's "I don't like his mouth." If he can endure this fan base, he should be beatified...

To add to the list: Now our Coach can't rest his hand on his face (I think that was a complaint last year), how dare he look like a deer (dear :) in the headlights and now how dare he say anything. On top of all those complaints, he shows no emotion and I guess now he shows too much. I know one thing, those blind refs sure couldn't read his lips.

I have a hard time believing Coach Shula would EVER do anything to embarrass this University and its fans. I cannot say the same for some of the coaches that we have gone through the past several years.

Seems I remember something like "You can please some of the people some of the time ------ ". With some Alabama fans, you can never please them any time.

Good Grief!

I'm adding this thread to the really useless topics for the year. Like TIDE-HSV said, Shula really can't win with some of you people. You'r so busy finding some fault you can't find time to see the good. The sidelines are not church.

I used to hate Bayou, but he's been my favorite poster for the past year :D

Wow, I thought that I had seen it all. I was wrong!! What a joke of a thread, if Shula's language bothers you so much, listen to the games on the radio while holding your Bible. RTR!!

I watched the game with two families, each with young children, and can tell you that every time ESPN cut to Shula, the parents tensed up. For good reason. You put that language on MTV and half of you would be up in arms about it. Don't be moral relativists. Face up to the fact that part of being a head coach is creating a good image of our University. Shula can do better.

Maybe their children should be watching Barney? If they were so concerned about what ESPN was going to show then maybe...JUST MAYBE they shouldn't have had their children watching it!

I know, I know, you can all thank me for this revalation later... :rolleye2:

Like it has been stated the Coach can't win with some of you..... oh he's not emotional enough, now he's too emtional.....
I had no trouble reading his lips and I can garauntee you he was pretty hot and who can blame him. Some of you better be glad (on many levels) that I'm not the head coach you would'nt have to "read my lips" you would have heard it.

Coach if you do read this post pleasev disregard it, you continue to give 'em hell.
:biga:

PS Steyeder I have always liked and agreed with your signature "Stupidity Should be Painful" and if it truly was, this thread would feel like a gun shot wound

I'll get "up in arms" when Coach Shula shows up half naked and constantly fondles his package.

Good grief! Some of you people will find absolutely anything to complain about. It's not like the man was screaming those things into a reporter's microphone. Like one of the other posters said: listen to it on the radio if it offends you so much. Given the horrendous call, I would've been upset if Shula hadn't been furious.

Personally I like the fire CMS has been displaying lately.

I knew I would be in the minority and I respect the opinion of those of you who disagree but it's one thing to show emotion and another to say what he was saying. You can justify it any way you want (e.g. referees) but it still does not make it right. For the record I am happy with the results of his coaching this season just not what he has been saying while he has been coaching.

And we wonder why coaches don't want to coach at Alabama. You can never satisfy some fans. If we score 6 points and win a game they want more points, if we score 40 and the other team only scores 7 they say it's running up the score. Gees GMAB. Worry about the soldiers getting killed in Iraq and children being abused and quit complaining about what a coach does on the sidelines.

All I can say is it's a good thing they didn't have cameras on Coach Bryant constantly on the sidelines. I'm sure some of you would be shocked to your toes. Same for Coach Stallings, and the majority of other coaches roaming these sidelines.

Coach Shula IS presenting a good image for the University, no matter what his language on the sidelines. I have no problem seeing him curse up a blue streak in the heat of the moment, since I was doing exactly the same thing at the time. (and I'm sure you'd have been just appalled at the language coming out of this middle aged woman's mouth). I'd rather see him do that than wandering the sidelines like Mike Dubose clapping like a fool no matter what happens. It shows me he has fire for his players and doesn't want to see them cheated. Besides, I never saw him take the Lord's name in vain, did you?

Your entitled to your opinion, as am I, but I've learned they're sometimes better kept to yourself.
